    So beautiful. Whenever we fly over a desert or mountains or a forest, i cant help but think to myself how small us humans are in a world so large. we may think weve conquered everything, but if i were to land in the middle of that landscape there woudlnt be anyone to help me. That is awe inspiring to me

    Beautiful video...Somewhat rare eastward turn out of Sea-Tac...only the Alaska bound jets do that. Very perfect landing at ANC.

    A great video !!! First, good afternoon! I am here from Brazil, but I have a true passion for Alaska, for its picturesque cities, amazing winters and amazing landscapes !! Congratulations, for the video !! I would like to give you a suggestion: edit this video and put the names of the places that the flight is following; It would be very interesting because people from outside the United States will be able to know better the geography, places and features of the places. In the other, a very cool video !! Greetings from Brazil !!

    8:05 - 8:29 - you can see the airport, but further afield you can also see downtown Seattle. How much smaller it all looks, I think is not just from the height but also from the particular angle. It sorta looks like they're only flying like 70 mph, when in fact they're flying at around 250 mph at that point and about one mile high. Most commercial aircrafts are usually moving around 200 mph at the end of their runway speed-up during the second of lift-off. When seeing the airport and downtown Seattle from the window at 8:05 - 8:29, the plane is about 5,000 ft up and has sped up to around 250 mph.
    12:30 - they're about 10,000 ft and flying 300 mph.
    13:10 - a skip ahead, they're about 20,000 ft and flying about 400 mph there.
    (At cruising altitude, 30,000 - 35,000 ft, they usually fly around 500 - 550 mph)
    14:30 - they're about 5,000 ft and descending at around 200 mph.
    (I guess that most aircrafts leave the ground at around 200 mph, and gain 50 mph for every 5,000 ft they climb. When descending, I think it's all a bit slower. And going like 170 mph when touching down).

      It's usually pretty smooth, but varies depending on weather patterns. Last 4-5 times I've flown it's been very smooth. Alaska Airlines is a good airline and they will take care of you well.

    How is it in Alaska I heard it 6 months of winter and 6 months of summer is it true?

    • @aps_ak7088
      @aps_ak7088  Před 5 lety

      Depends on where you are at, but it is rarely split 50/50. In Anchorage, you get about 4 months of warm weather we call "summer", about 6 months of snow, and the rest are transitional periods. The further north you go, the shorter the summer season is. Southeast Alaska doesn't get as much snow but is pretty wet year-round.
