- Calling all mason jar collectors! In today's video, I'm teaching you how to date vintage and antique Ball Mason Jars - from modern glass all the way back to 1885! I've also included my favorite resource for authenticating jars, as well as how to look up recent sold listings so you know you're paying a fair price - or making a fair profit. Whether you're a collector or a reseller, this one's for you.

Hey y'all! In case you *aren't* new here, you might notice that the format of this video is a little different than my usual uploads. That's because, in all my infinite wisdom and free time, I decided to go back to school and complete my bachelors! This video is for my public speaking class where we had to cover a "how to" speech. I've been wanting to make this video for awhile, and I'm so glad I finally had the chance to share this with y'all. Can you let me know what you think about this format? It worked especially well for showing the logos, so maybe I'll do something similar in the future for other brands of antique and vintage jars - if you're interested.

Amazing video thank you so much for the help I just bought a massive collection of over 300 jars and bottles and a tonn are the Michigan blue glass from the 1910 to 1933 you e saved me a major headache
Hello! I’m so glad I could help. That sounds like a lovely collection. Most of my canning jars came from a large collection as well, and I have some beautiful pieces from that buy.

I have over 100 old mason and atlas, and other old jars like globe. But today at the flea market I just purchased the oldest jar in my collection, it's an original logo mason jar hand blown from the 1800s. Nice video here as well.
Thank you for the video! I am looking for a value on an old Ball Mason jar with an air bubble in it, as well as some Ideal Ball jars (one blue, and two clear). I have a very large opening jar with Ball on the bottom. Did they manufacture for other companies because there is nothing on the side of the jar.
Hi! Yes, I have a few of these. I believe they are “product jars” - intended for use by other companies for their commercial canned goods. But they work just fine for home canning, too.
We have two qt jars that are Ball Perfect Mason square shoulders with the old mouths and three ribs on the three sides with a big sweeping B on the front bottom on one is a 3, the other has a messed up bottom, no number . Anybody know anything about them?
