- This is a review of Lasko Misto. (big update below, this thing needs metal upgrades, and then, it's wonderful. )
-----
New update after two seasons: with the upgraded parts below, this thing is awesome. The shutoffs and the metal nozzles are a game changer for regulating the right amount of mist so you don't get soaked and the cooling effect on full blast is incredible. The original plastic nozzles would get the floor wet, and fail from calcium buildup, and when I cleaned them with vinegar, their o-rings disintegrated. I would never buy this Lasko without upgrading the nozzles with shut offs.
-------
(Old update with parts) Just an update. I upgraded my nozzles with shut off switches and it’s 100 times better because you can adjust the mist to just one, and regulate the amount that comes out of each. I had to cut off a little bit of plastic on the misto with a saw to make the threads of the shut off valves fit, but it was super easy. I also used some plumber teflon tape to make sure it didn't leak.
Here are the parts:
3 Metal nozzles ⅛ NPT (10/24 is the thread size) and the (0.020 inch) orifice depends on how much water flow you want. Amazon was out so I bought from mistcoolingdotcom.
1/8 - 27 NPT Misting Nozzles 0.020 Inch - High Flow (10/24 Thread Size)

3 shut off valves, ⅛ NPT
HongBoW Hardware 2 Pcs 1/8 inch Mini Brass Ball Valve - Chrome Plated Female x Male NPT Shut Off Valve

Thanks for this review. In the latest Costco Connection Magazine they have this exact same mister listed at $79.99 and I'm going to order one now!
Could you please do a video on the upgrade you did on the Nozzles? Thank you
Great video, just ordered one as well as the recommended upgrades. Thanks so much for the insight
Great review. Will use your link to purchase, thanks man!
"117 degrees" okay so you're a fellow Arizonan! Good, time to plug this misto in.
Do you think this will work for a DJ looking for a good outdoor fan? I’m down in Florida and is starting to get hot.

If I were to do it all over, I would get an outdoor fan and just buy good metal parts instead of getting the cheap plastic misto parts. Those nozzles suck compared to the metal. The plastic nozzles came with o-rings that fell apart when soaking them in vinegar, which you need to do every few weeks with misters.
Are you saying you’d get a regular outdoor fan and add a mister with metal parts? Can you elaborate on what you mean by this last paragraph pls?
@@Del76 I believe thats what he's saying, pass on this mister fan and just make his own with higher quality parts
Great job thanks
Ordered one from Costco for 79.99. Also adding all the improvements, you suggest. 109 degrees in North Texas today.
Buy metal nozzles and shut offs, you'll thank me later. Size is in description.
@@trophyhusbandreviews got them on order.
You are so underrated man
This video helped me decide to purchase one. Thank you so much trophy husband!!!😍😍😍😍😍
Don't lie James, I know you didn't buy anything. Go big and get a high-pressure one for your shows, tired of being hot and bothered there.
Awesome review. I ordered it after watching this video. Looking forward to using it on my deck this summer. Would be nice to get the links to the brass parts to replace the plastic stuff.

After I upgraded the nozzles, the Misto is awesome to have on hot days. I love it, just not the old plastic nozzles.
Could you please clarify cutting off with a saw. I have all of the parts from your links, but not sure about the cutting procedure. Thanks for the great review!
Right now at $79.99 at Costco. 6/23/24 0800hrs.
Excellent review. I just bought this from the Costco website for $79.00 and it arrived this morning. Super easy to set up and works as good as I could hope for the price and ease of use. We live in the Chicago suburbs and our summers are hot with stifling humidity. Our deck has western exposure so it is brutal on 95 degree days like today. As you point out we can't sit out there in the day due to the heat but now we can! Is it perfect as you point out? No. But for the price it is very robust compared to the other cheaper options we have tried.
Buy metal nozzles and shut offs. Size is in description. That makes it closer to perfect
@@trophyhusbandreviews Thank you! We had guests over yesterday and it really made the deck noticeably more comfortable. I am also going to get the filter too as our water has a really high mineral content.
Thank you for this review! Could you please put links to brass replacements mister heads.
They are in the description
Excellent
Thanks
Is the 7050 just an older version of the 7054? Any upgrades? (Or downgrade ga)
I looked into it. There was a weight difference, so something is different, but they don't say what the internal difference is. Hopefully better.
these went up to $160 and not seeing them on amazon so not sure if they make it anymore?
Just picked one up today from Costco on sale at $79.99
Does yours make a puddle of water under it? The three nozzles drip on mine as I use it in the garage. Is there a fix for that? thanks
No, you need metal nozzles and shutoffs to regulate water flow and give some height. I have the sizes in description, it's a game changer.
I wanna dance underwater and and not get wet I like it😂😂😂
Can I connect it to a water tank ?
No, it needs good water pressure. Better off with one of the mobile ones.
We specialize in yard misting systems, and I believe there may be valuable collaboration opportunities between us.
Since you said you would do it differently if you were to do it again….can you shoot me over exactly what setup you would use? Send me affiliate links :) I don’t mind spending up to $200 to create something worthy.
I just updated that after this summer, I'd buy the same setup with the extra parts in my comment at the top. This thing is great.
I almost wanted to hit you for being like everyone else in this video but I continue to watch and I actually learned quite a bit about misting and things I never knew to even look for so thank you I don't hate you for that
On sale at Costco 80 bucks
Al Borland??
Al the kiddies pal.
It's me Ray, you caught me
😆😆😆
This just made my whole night 😁
I don't usually find men funny... Sorry if that sounds sexist.
🤔 Or IS sexist... 🤣
But whatever, it's true. However, this was just fabulous. You're clever and knowledgeable 🙌🏼 super awesome combo. Subscribed and looking forward to watching more of your videos in my free time 😁😁😁
Mine whistles like a freight train
The other nozzles it came with will change that, but those nozzles all suck. Get shutoffs and metal nozzles (i mention in my other comment) and it will be 10x better.
