With thanks to -
Obviously my Mum for all sorts of reasons but also because she puts up with me pi**ing about filming weeding rather than just getting on with the job.
Also Operose Workwear who very kindly gifted mum and I a pair each of their most spectacular trousers. Specifically designed for women, the are tough and fit fantastically.

And for the music ‘Ginger’ by Chad Crouch
Loved the Chicken Gymnastics segment! I LOL-ed at that. And the Robin Raid on your compost worms was a great catch too.
Hahaha, yeah the girls are so funny when they jump. :D With their little fluffy legs. :D
I lol-ed, too.
What does a Canadian gardener do in the middle of winter....go back and rewatch Plot 37 of course 😁❄️🥶
That pair of bay leaf bunches would EASILY last me a lifetime lol
I use whole bay leaf for beef pot roast. It stimulates the appetite, AS IF my appetite for beef roast needed any help!
When I was little, my mother bought bay berry candles, which always smelled like perfume. Don't see those much anymore :(
Put some of your bay leafs together with basil and salvia in your tomato sauce! Onions and garlic obviously stir fry first and than passata and the sices. But dont let the leaves inside because than they are much to intense. This recepee is from sardinia italy and absolutely delicious. Grüße aus cologne
You're plot is so tidy and space used so cleverly. Lovely ❤❤❤❤
Thank you! :d
I love that you have a netting shed
Tomatoes are beautiful! Love viewing your plants and everything. Most of all love your techniques to growing and caring for your plants.i always learn something from your videos
Another week, another gardening jewel😊🌱
Love the all green fingers tomatoes smelling hands💚
Say hi to your Kohlrabi too😋 and thank you thank you for "watering the bees"🙏🐝🙂
Hahahaha! The Kohlrabi say ‘Hi’ back! And thank you! :D
New sub here from New York State 👋 Our climate isn’t quite the same as yours but my husband and I love your channel and we’re learning so much about veg gardening
keep going girl, you do such a wonderful job and i really look forward to your blogs. Say hi to mum. x
Thanks Trevor! :D Mum says ‘Hi’ back!
Really enjoyed this episode as with the very few I've seen previously since recently becoming a subscriber of your channel. I'm currently on a waiting list at my local allotment site and you're giving me massive inspiration for my future plot! Thanks
Hi Wesley! Thank you! Do you know how long you’re likely to have to wait? where about are you?
@@JessieatPlot37 I'm in West Midlands. Well, I was apparently 5th on the list a month ago but it's a matter of when a plot becomes available so who knows how long it'll be till I get mine. I'm mentally preparing myself in the meantime though and gathering ideas from inspirational people like yourself. Keep up the great work Jess :-)
@@wesleydavis8786 Have you got a plot now Wesley? I've just got one after 3 years on the waiting list. I'm working my way through Jessie's vlogs for inspiration!
@@katec9893 Yes, I have! 😊 And I love it! I got mine shortly after writing this I think. Great news for you after that long 3 year wait! Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine
Well done on getting the white fly under control.you and Mum have some great veg coming through. Great video👍👍
Thanks Mark!
Another way I’ve seen to deal with Whitefly is to vacuum them up.
Great video Jessie , I spray garlic on everything to keep the bugs off , works a treat .
Yeah, i did this a few years ago... not sure why i stopped really! I must get back to it!
Love your style of growing. It all looks fabulous.
Oh Thank you! :D
Hi Jessie, another very enjoyable vlog! 👍
I was wondering, are there people keeping bees on your allotment site?
Have you thought about adding a machete to your christmas wish list? Might come in handy with the tomato jungle in the polytunnel.
Let me give you 3 quick tips for the tomato tasting: 1. pick the tomatoes, 2. HIT THE RECORD BUTTON, 3. eat the tomatoes 😉
Take care and good luck with all the watering during the hot days ahead...Hannes 💚
Hi Hannes! Hahahahaha, yeah, i managed to record it this time!! Woo!! :D
And yes, on the other side of the site there is a beehive. They arrived last year, very exciting to have them around!
Always enjoy your vlogs my toms are still green but they are outside and I have two tiny cues in a large grow bag which are coming along lots of leaves and yes I am planning for winter and next year on my patio/ garden
Yep, the planning begins! :D What variety of Cukes are you growing outdoors? I’ve never had much luck!
now you dont want your bush hacked to death! haha, made me schoolboy giggle!
😂
There is a 3rd organic way to deal with white fly, and it's edible. Grow sage among your brassica.
Thanks for another relaxing update for the week looks good that Bay tree is awesome cheers 🍻
:D Thanks! :D
I really enjoyed your vlog, Jessie. I've never ground my dried bay leaves before but will give it a try. Thanks for the tip :-) Now I understand why people have ponds on their plots - great feet dipping space!!! Lovely :-) Take care. Jan :-)
Hahaha, yeah, cools you right down! :D Yeah, i lived with a girl years ago who couldn’t understand why she couldn’t by ground bay in the shops over here! She used them either fresh and whole or dried and ground... so i ground some up! As long as its really finely ground its fantastic!
Hi Jess, really enjoyed your video. I,m back on stand down again as the virus is having a second wave here. So you video was timely. Cheers -Keith
Hi Keith! Back on stand down... Its all a bit up and down this isn’t it!
really enjoyed this weeks vlog, excellent !
Thanks Johnny! :D
Thankyou for sharing Jessie. Looking forward to the tomato tasting? Take care see ya later blessings Ontario Canada 🐝
:D
Make bay leaf tea, sounds strange but it is the most subtle, thirst quenching drink, I find 3 bay leaves but your leaves are bigger than mine steeped in hot water, I have a glass teapot does it for me, really delicious, try it. Keep up the excellent blogs. Xx
hmmm.... Will definitely try that! never heard to Bay Tea! :D
Love your vids!! Keep up the epic work 💪
Did you buy an improved mulberry or is it just a “bird turd” variety? Lol. I’ve got a nice bird turd on my property, from which I’ve taken many cuttings and multiplied. It’s in the backyard, where my garden is up front, so I wanted to be able to snack on them while I’m fiddling in the garden.
Wish I had my mom helping me on my plot.. I can't wait for spring
Hahaha, they are very useful! :D
first one here! love your vlogs and the piano music you use.
Thank you! :D
Loved it take care 😊
:D Thank you!
Well done Jessie, how often do you feed the tomato 🍅. Great insight into your work. Really given me some good ideas what to grow. And your mum is a great hand to have. Thanks gus, Ireland 🇮🇪.
Hi Gus, i feed them every week on a Thursday (unless i forget, then its every two weeks!). But i have a little calendar in shed to keep track.
And yep, Mums great. :D
Well done!
Thank you! :D
Best Chanel
Thanks! :D
The moth probely is a jersey tiger as there is some in london
Yes, it was. Seen so many this year. Love them!
My melons have been a bit of a disaster this year; it was hot in April and May, but cool, wet and cloudy through most of June and July, so I only have one melon forming out of about 5 plants. My cukes got red spider mite, although I had a good crop off them - ' Isobel Rose' pink onions and Unwins's exhibition onions have done well outside though and the tomatoes in the greenhouse. I live in Greater Manchester, so I am a tad envious of your drier, warmer climate in Essex or London? I was going to say I like your melons but it would maybe not sound appropriate!
Hahaha, Hi Duncan, yeah, we are in London. My cucumbers have spider mite too but only the Crystal Lemon ones have been badly effected, Passandra is soldiering on! Sorry about your Melons! They can be a bit fickle can’t they? I’m not sure whats happened to mine, covered in fruit but supposedly they are all one variety... and they are clearly not 😅
@@JessieatPlot37 I know you have mentioned it before, but what variety of melons are they? They seem so prolific!
Massive tomatoes! White fly is a pain! Nearly as bad as slug's!!!!
Slugs, whitefly, spider mite, aphids, mice..... the list is endless. 😅
Hi. I really enjoy your videos. How does one get an allotment? I am from the States so I am not familiar with this. I love the idea.
Hi Patrick! Over here they are generally supplied by the council but there are some on private land too. Private land ones are pretty rare unless they’ve been there a long time though because once you have allotments its very hard to reclaim the land because it becomes public use.
Depending on where you are in the country, there are waiting lists. In London its about 7 years! But in other areas you just apply and get one. They are rented, but at a very very low cost.
Fairly new to your site. I noticed that you have a pineapple sage, can i ask do you keep it outside all year or do you bring it inside.
How do you use the plant.
Hi Adam, sorry for such a slow response, I’m playing catchup! Yes, its outdoors all year round but my garden is very sheltered! I planted one out in the front garden a couple of years ago but its colder out there and it was killed off over the winter!
I haven’t found many ways to use it to be honest, its nice in drinks! :D
You ever feel bad/guilty about trimming the tomatoes, especially if they have flowers? I have terrible guilt by this time, and end up with 3-4 meter plants...and lots of crowding! 🥺
Yep! I’ve got to get into the right mental state, hard and ruthless and just doing in one go. I can’t just clip bits off here and there. Its like ripping of a plaster! :D
Jessie at Plot 37 I hear that! Just did a good trimming mid last week...wasn’t as painful as I was expecting...but was hard enough, lol. 🥺 🤣
When you did it for a living did you do presumably a horticultural course? Xx
The thumbs down on this vlog must be your exes.......Lol
To many innuendos to handle right now 😂
Hahaha....
Where did you get your durable trays from?
I have a couple of different types. The key on cellular trays is to find ones that have a big enough hole at the bottom to get your finger through! The soil doesn’t fall out once its compacted and it means you can poke the plants out without damaging the structure. I have some polystyrene ones that are still going 32 years later!! I will look up where some of the other ones i have came from...
I like your Melons but on another note your Cucumber that looks frazzled well it looks to me like you have Red Spider Mite on it and possibly on the others, just wash it over with your hose and keep the floor wet, great video again Jess
Hi Graham, yeah, you are very right! its all looking a bit spider-mite-y in there. I’ve been spraying everything with water but its been sooooooo hot i cant keep up!
Lovely...but so many ads!
Really, was there? I’m sorry about that. I don’t think I’ve quite worked out how to reduce them from the standard number that youtube inserts....
