This is a wrong doctrine followed by Seventh Day Adventists. Jesus said to the man who was crucified with him like this: Assuredly I say to you today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:39-43). In Luke 16:19-24 in the parable Jesus said the poor man Lazarus was taken to the bosom of Abraham
(Paradise) and the rich men went to Hades. In Philippians 1:23 Paul says: I am hard pressed between the two having a desire to depart (from the body) and be with Christ which is far better. Nevertheless to remain the FLESH is more needful for you. From all these verses it’s very clear that the soul and spirit of a person will go either to heaven or hades when a person dies.

The story of rich man and Lazarus told by Jesus proves that a man’s soul and spirit continue to live after the death of his body.. Also, if your teaching is correct then why did Jesus tell the man who was crucified with him : assuredly I say to you today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:39-43)?
