My biggest peeve is when a users experience is interrupted. whether its invasive advertising, like a certain news media network i know, or calls to action, or whatever. If you're going to use a pop up have it triggered before or after i have had time to read the article. In my day it was considered extremely rude to interrupt a users browsing experience. lol
In regards to website's user experience: I immediately leave a site if it shoves pop ups in my face like after a few seconds. If they on top of it purposely chose a low contrast for the close button or "cloak" it in any other way then I will block the site so I prevent myself from accidentally ending up on it ever again. ^^ I really hate pop-ups. I think they should be forbidden. I know they work but I for the life of me don't understand how it makes people convert. 😆 Another thing is sound on a website. Some websites have a sound when their chatbot pops up 😜 Great video! 😊
I've just started reading your book and thought I would take a peep at CZcams too. In both cases I love your style of presentation. You make something potentially overwhelming seem like fun! To answer your question, it has to be getting hit with a pop-up box within 2 seconds of arriving on a home page.. wtf? How the hell do I decide I want to subscribe to a newsletter if I've not even had a chance to see what the company is all about.. crazy and annoying.
