She lived in a little apartment that was actually attached to the school building. when it was time for her to leave for the church, We all went outside and lined the looooooong driveway from the school building down to the gates and each held up a pink flower (I think in theory they wanted it to look like an arch, but we were way too tiny lol) Realistically I was probably close to 5-6 years old, but even now at 35 I vividly remember participating and knowing what a special day it was.

Like dude couldn’t run but was the only officer at football games so we had one person run across the field at halftime during a scrimmage with a team from Kansas (our school was in Texas they drove 24 hours to get beat 46-3 ) anyways at halftime just as kickoff was happening a Homie started streaking and juked dude out like 3 times on the field causing him to fall Homie made it all the way across the field from end zone to end zone and hopped the fence before the student resource officer razed him through the fence in front of everyone which caused a chain reaction from the students. My school was wild

I remember back in middle school, out resource officer came out and was explaining all of her gear to everyone and what to do in a shooting situation. A friend of mine at the time was really interested in law and forensics so he asked her a few questions about the mechanics of her taser, and she saw it fit to threaten him with it for some reason if he wouldn't "stop goofing around." Same officer came to my house to harass my mother too, who did nothing wrong. Wish we had a resource officer like this through our dozen schools shooting threats. I would have felt a lot safer.

Our drivers Ed instructors son and wife both died in separate, preventable car crashes one after the other. He devoted his life to teaching kids how to be safe on the road from then on, and when I was in school he met the lunch lady at my high school. The moment he announced he had a girlfriend, and it was her, we all rejoiced. I think about him a lot. Everyone deserves to give love and receive.

Our drivers Ed instructors son and wife both died in separate, preventable car crashes one after the other. He devoted his life to teaching kids how to be safe on the road from then on, and when I was in school he met the lunch lady at my high school. The moment he announced he had a girlfriend, and it was her, we all rejoiced. I think about him a lot. Everyone deserves to give love and receive.

I'm glad he took the power of his grief, anger and also the knowledge of what had happened to a place where his story could help students learn to drive actively, not passively. Always have to stay alert and not do dumb stuff ( like not paying attention, reckless speeding, drunk driving, trying to beat a train, and so much else).
