Trenton may be crazy but it sure does have some beautiful buildings and great history. The thing is we have to educate our kids, and also guide people that are very unfortunate to not have such great parents or guides. These people need guidance thats their problem. Make more programs that keep these people busy and working on schedule. Also add in more social workers to help guide. They can start by picking up the trash or even painting. From working in Trenton on apartment renovations i have seen the beauty of Trenton and the ugly. Trenton has so much potential it just needs a more stronger community and hopefully a better mayor. Trentons always in my heart and im here to add on to its beauty.
Trenton is a city that still is making history to this day. Social reform movements, Olympic Champions, There are beautiful happenings in a city that manages to deal with the poorest people in the community and uplift certain hard working folk.

Brandon Slocum lots of factories and thriving businesses. But then when jobs left , the natural order of things happen. I remember watching fireworks from the Trenton Makes The World Takes bridge. And the cheese steaks on Stuyvesant Ave( West Trenton).
I’m from Trenton , and yes I live here it may have some hoods / ghettos but we do have nice parts like Hiltona it’s not all bad it’s the people in it and I know it’s sad .
Niabeatuyxoxo234 Facts. I've walked through Hiltonia, and some of the houses are huge. Big difference...

What pArt are you from. I drove through Hiltonia a few times. That a nice area. I heard it predominantly black. I spent a part of my childhood in North Trenton and Ewing Township. Did you ever eat at Amifikas ?? Before he burned down.
There's still that one burned out house on the corner of Riverside, and Hermitage that's been there for at least 3 years. It makes the whole street look shitty.
It breaks my heart to see what has happened to Chambersburg and other areas of that City where I grew up. I wish people had the pride in their property and neighborhoods that we had when I was growing up there. It's a shame, but it's still home
Ah the burg. Back when it was in its glory days they used to have the festival of lights and it was such a good time. Back then everybody knew everybody and you all went to the same school. Now it's just got more and more dilapidated and all of the community has mostly moved out. :(
What good does it to have pride when you can't afford to make repairs or capital improvements? These neighborhoods look pretty well kept compared to some places I've seen. But you probably mean, when they were white neighborhoods, and people there had money. But you see, all those people disappeared to the burbs, and left it to rot with no tax base and no hope. They are trying their best, which is more than you can say for those who fled.
@@ultrametric9317 Yes at one time Chambersburg was a predominantly Italian American neighborhood. There was a lot of pride. The homeowners would not only sweep their own front porches, they also swept the sidewalks and gutters in front of their homes. It's just a shame to see it in it's present condition for whatever reason they have to live like that.
@@tjpuca5270 I can't disagree with that. I lived for 6 years in St. Louis, a large city that completely destroyed itself with white flight. The racism there was so thick you could cut it with a knife. But the Italian-Americans did not leave, and now their area, the "Hill", is one of the few left in the city that is habitable.
Come on black people we could do better no matter what life throw at us.we don't have to live like this and every neighborhood we it call the hood are ghettos. It's very sad
Stop using ethnicity bc ur the ppl who drove the white homeowners out of trenton.. now all u have are bandos and corrupt land lords renting you homes that are against the law to even be renting. Stop calling African Americans to save everything bc that city is full of them and it's getting worse and worse from here on.

this is a far cry from what General George Washington could of ever imagined when he stationed the US army here. god bless us all. After General George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River north of Trenton the previous night, Washington led the main body of the Continental Army against Hessian auxiliaries garrisoned at Trenton.
