    Trenton may be crazy but it sure does have some beautiful buildings and great history. The thing is we have to educate our kids, and also guide people that are very unfortunate to not have such great parents or guides. These people need guidance thats their problem. Make more programs that keep these people busy and working on schedule. Also add in more social workers to help guide. They can start by picking up the trash or even painting. From working in Trenton on apartment renovations i have seen the beauty of Trenton and the ugly. Trenton has so much potential it just needs a more stronger community and hopefully a better mayor. Trentons always in my heart and im here to add on to its beauty.

    It breaks my heart to see what has happened to Chambersburg and other areas of that City where I grew up. I wish people had the pride in their property and neighborhoods that we had when I was growing up there. It's a shame, but it's still home

    • @Thesilverninja
      @Thesilverninja Před 2 lety +1

      Ah the burg. Back when it was in its glory days they used to have the festival of lights and it was such a good time. Back then everybody knew everybody and you all went to the same school. Now it's just got more and more dilapidated and all of the community has mostly moved out. :(

    • @ultrametric9317
      @ultrametric9317 Před rokem

      What good does it to have pride when you can't afford to make repairs or capital improvements? These neighborhoods look pretty well kept compared to some places I've seen. But you probably mean, when they were white neighborhoods, and people there had money. But you see, all those people disappeared to the burbs, and left it to rot with no tax base and no hope. They are trying their best, which is more than you can say for those who fled.

    • @tjpuca5270
      @tjpuca5270 Před rokem +2

      @@ultrametric9317 Yes at one time Chambersburg was a predominantly Italian American neighborhood. There was a lot of pride. The homeowners would not only sweep their own front porches, they also swept the sidewalks and gutters in front of their homes. It's just a shame to see it in it's present condition for whatever reason they have to live like that.

    • @ultrametric9317
      @ultrametric9317 Před rokem

      @@tjpuca5270 I can't disagree with that. I lived for 6 years in St. Louis, a large city that completely destroyed itself with white flight. The racism there was so thick you could cut it with a knife. But the Italian-Americans did not leave, and now their area, the "Hill", is one of the few left in the city that is habitable.

    this is a far cry from what General George Washington could of ever imagined when he stationed the US army here. god bless us all. The Battle of Trenton was a small but pivotal battle during the American Revolutionary War which took place on the morning of December 26, 1776, in Trenton, New Jersey. After General George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River north of Trenton the previous night, Washington led the main body of the Continental Army against Hessian auxiliaries garrisoned at Trenton.

    This is what generations of too much SSI, cash assistance, food stamps, Medicaid, WIC, section 8, does to entire regions. These help programs were not designed as a long term generational lifestyle rather as a helping hand during a rough time to help restore the family or individual to self sufficiency. Families and individuals must decide their own fate and either get with it or continue the cycle by reproducing without means and ways to support their children thus leaving society with the same dilemma of 'do we allow the children to go without?' Then our societal kindness raises yet another generation of dependent children and adults....... It's cyclical poverty which is caused by kind hearts.......

    Anyone from Trenton will tell you this vid is a vid of about 7 Trenton streets. Trenton has a lot of run down areas, but it also has nice areas. Anyone can go to the projects and film and make an area look bad. The video opens up at the homeless shelter...ok what does that prove? Anyway my city has a long way to go, but it is a city of working ppl in a place where there aren't many jobs. It's obvious what the point of this video is. But instead of pointing the finger do something to help change things. Or just keep riding your bike I guess.

    Jack Tiscione here: Born in Chambersburg Trenton in 1950. Italian then all Guats now...Used to hang at Cork & Bottle bar liquor store/bar (1969) on Brunswick across from 2 massive PSE&G natural gas tanks (gone now). Guy in Cork & Bottle was nice guy called Jonesy. worked with Doug Palmer in 1973 @ DMV before he became mayor trenton...Battle monument, 5 points...Walnut Ave now as bad as anywhere in country...Me & friend Walt used to pick up crack there. Grandparents lived on princeton ave by 5 points before renamed MLK Blvd. 5 points been cleaned up...In late 60s' carry a gun or stay away...Trenton cops are pricks. Calhoun & Stuyvesant..Ingraham ave. heading toward ewing. Trentons' still not TOO bad compared Camden A.C. Newark real bad in 60s..Getting better now

    I’ve driven down streets in Trenton where 50 thug ass dudes are just standing in the intersection and when you drive through you almost have to mow them down because they won’t move. They kind of just half heartedly try to stop you as if for fun. They weren’t even selling dope they just hang out like that. That’s the only time or place I’ve seen that personally, in the middle of the day. Also barrel fires on the sidewalks and streets.
