amazed at the difference in sound. I have gone thru several YT videos about this question but this was only one that tested in a easily demonstrable way the difference. One audio engineer said not to go sideways, one said its ok, but to put tweeters inside to negate the directionality of high frequencys being off axis and that made sense. from this test I preferred the set as shown

Just stand them up as designed and aim them at you. No one who is going to play your music back on their home system will have their speakers laying on their sides. This is the height of silliness.

@@matsudakodo as point sources, they are allowed to be placed horizontally, you may also have to do this if they are too high for your studio stands.
I don't think it's really an issue when you consider other three-way monitors that have less than usual design such as lyd 48 or any coaxial monitor such as genelec. People make music on those all the time and they are not like speakers most people have

Have you compared the horizontal sound in comparison to back the box-shown vertical direction but using ISO Acoustics 200's (+ or - depending on your speaker size. I.M.O. the 200's are great for the LP & IN 8's) Isolation Stand Audio Monitor stands. They allow adjustability for height, angel of speaker (so you can position the sound directly where your ears are located), focus, and insulation. For best results I reccomend placing your speakers on a "🗜️C-Clamp style" connection to the desk with an ISO 200 (whatever size 130,155,200 or 300+ for your home studio monitors and subwoofers) and/or compare using both in all directions on an independant metal stand with and without the ISO stands. 💪💯🙏🔑📀💰💳💷💶💴💵⚗️🧪🛰️🔊🎼🎶🎵✅
