What a machine, can't imagine mine with 600bhp!!! Awesome
Joe Achilles Imagine your car with roughly 1.5X the power it has now....Boom, you’ve imagined it! 🤣
Joe Achilles i have this tune on mine and it’s a GAME CHANGER!!! Get it! You’ll never look back and very few cars will be able to get away from you... it feels like it came
Stock with 600HP it doesn’t feel hacked or modded it’s just silly powerful
The Noelle Performance Software on that car does not void warranty and is emission legal. What a game changer for Marc and the M2 Comp.
Yes it does. FASTA data will clearly show it. Any major warranty claim and your screwed. BMW just doesn't say anything unless a claim comes up
My local BMW dealer says it’s the only software that won’t void warranty.
@@deweythomas6339 Every time your Vehicle is hooked up to diagnostic software in the dealership (ISTA) which is every time it goes in, ISTA sends back FASTA data to Central servers for every module. Only Regional engineers and higher can decode this data dump but some of the parameters can be read out from the car directly using a old software called Tool32. To give you an idea for the seat module there's a lifetime counter for every time you make a seat adjustment for every single axis, DCT shows the number of times each gear has been engaged over the life of the car, max temps, times over temp etc. this is just to give you an idea just how detailed information BMW has on your car, you're fooling yourself if you think BMW can't see the max boost and may other telltale signs the car is tuned. This data would only be reviewed by a regional engineer if they had to sign off on a large warranty repair, but it's up there in the cloud. ANY FLASH TUNE is silly easy to detect, now as long as you don't go blowing up a motor and need a warranty repair sign-off you'll be fine. They may have gotten CARB certified which means it's Cali legal but that does not mean BMW is ok with it or willing to warranty it.
Interesting. In 5 years I’ve never had an issue with my M5 at the dealer. I’ll never understand how it works. Cool info. Do you have a Noelle package?
BMW does not honor any aftermarket tune warranty’s. If a tuning shop offers a warranty, it’s through themselves (ie Dinan) but has nothing to do with BMW.
This is truly a beast of its kind
For the love of God, fucking shift! The transmission has more than 2 gears!
I have remap my M2C to 550hp. And put lots of carbon parts, hood, trunk, fender. Also light weight wheels and PC 2 tire. Man I love how it runs on track. Balance and handling just perfect.
I have this tune on my M2C and it’s absolutely fantastic... more than just an engine remap - the “drift angle threshold” for example has been changed (increased) the ABS - EDIff - Traction control etc have all been remapped to accommodate the added power... Noelle Performance FTW!
I would love to talk to you more about yours. I have the car and am seriously considering the tune, but there isn’t much info about it online.
Robert Aydelott let’s talk ! I spent the day kicking ass and taking names in the mtns today, My buddies F80 making 540whp gets absolutely WAXED by the noelle M2C - the diff software / MDM mode is cinematic- i have 6 BMWs and it’s def my fave sports car if not car period - it’s hard to beat the Dinan Signature II MINT e39 M5 that I have as an overall passenger car but it’s hard to beat the Noelle M2C with ANYTHING PERIOD - if you’re thinking about it - stop thinking and do it - Franz Hutzu - the writer of this remap is a fn genius - ABS was recalibrated after the car in the video was taken on laguna as I understand and when I took mine in for the map Franz was finishing the revision for the drift angle and MDM DSC settings etc so I had to wait a day or two
Marc is an absolute legend. Awesome video, if I didnt have my 2008 E92 m3 I'd absolutely get a M2
This car is better than the E series M cars, by all means, get the M2 and forget that stale beast...
@@duffydon1741 I'm afraid I can't agree with you on that "stale beast" comment. Some of us with supercharged, and track modified E92 M3s take great offense to such a comment. My buddy, who owns a modified M2 won't even race in the same category as us E92 M3 guys at VIR. His modified M2 competition is humbled at Oak Tree and the upper esses.
If there was such a thing as a perfect car,..this is it. Style, quality, power. That interior begs you to get in!
The video didn't do this color justice but it was amazing. Flat grey/blue in the shade, then a light purple sparkle when the sun hit it.
My very first car was a Focus ZX3 and i did soft springs/shocks with the biggest anti-roll bars i could find and it was amazing.
Marc Norris has been around for a bit and is one of the nicest guys in the Los Angeles BMW community.
my fav bmw of all! great video!
Just met this dude, Friendly chap, really knows his stuff.
Always the best content, I learn soooooooooooo much from your channel .
this owner knows his stuff. Sounds like a great dude
What do you think the times are in terms of speed are now after all the modifications? Like what would 0-60 be, or quarter miles from stock to after tune?
Great review men!!!!!!!!!
What kind of suspension was being used? Just lowering springs? Also did you have to do crank hub fix? Or is this not a concern? Great Car
What’s been done to the exhaust? Sounds much better than a stock M2 comp/M3/M4
I have this tune now on my M3 comp and it is insanely fast. I took a test ride in my local shop/tuner M2C that had this tune on his car and I said "take my money" after the test-drive.
Good choice going for the manual. Makes it more fun
Does the video go into the detail of suspension parts?
Mark is a wealth of experience and BMW knowledge. He owns my local indy shop and they do awesome work. No doubt this thing was babied
I wish I could crawl in the video and shift. That was brutal
Such a legend for getting the manual
Good episode 👏👍
Did you get the gintani crank hub?
any crunk hub upgrade ??
Does somebody(or @TheSmokingTire) know what exact mods did he install? like what coil overs exactly etc.... all Dinan right?
And how corner balanced and aligned is it.
I am sure Scotty Kilmer is loving this video.
Damn. That was one of the more exciting TST drives to watch. Long form FTW with this one. Damn.
Marc is one chill dude and I love his mentality of compliant / well damped suspension. I have test driven some *stiff* modern enthusiast cars w/in the past few years and wondered what numbers do I need to know in order to correctly swap out the suspension for a better over-the-road experience (*) while retaining ~75% of the handling.
(*) -- where my roads are winter ravaged mid-atlantic shit shows intermixed with the occasional newly paved stretch.
mad respect
Awesome ride... One question I have in mind: is the M2 OG stiffer ride than the M2C when looking at the OOTB settings (no button pressed, no tuning, no Mod just enter the car and drive in normal conditions, a.k.a Comfort mode)
I drive the piss out of mine and it just takes it. Love this car. Keeping it for as long as possible.
Did u replace your crank hub? I heard there is problems with the crankhub?
I've got a cheap 228i and it drives really nice, think the 2 series platforms great
amazing car
0-60?
Well I guess this is why I woke up at five in the morning, better than coffee☕️
Get that wagon on the show
Old Tupperware killed me lmao 🤣
Dosent it automatically rev match for you?
My Summer Camp is on that Road 😀 Such a lovely road to drive on but if you get it wrong....
love it
gawd this is a dream car for me
600 without downpipes 🤔 . What has he done to that car
the tuner claims 600hp with their 93 octane tune for $2499
www.noelleperformance.com/m-series/
Have you guys ever considered omitting the always super-awkward handshake at the beginning?
how much he put into the build?
I have a question, in regards to the cars stiffness, dont you want a stiffer car when your driving it aggressively and trying to go as fast as possible?
Not necessarily super stiff because on a bumpy surface on really tough suspension you will be losing traction more often making your lap times slower. All you want is for your car to be planted properly so all four of your wheels are making contact with the ground at all times
Ayyyy Mark! Showing up my F22! I got something for you now though ;)
Awesome already called noelle
Man..the engine/exhaust note sounds so much like a Porsche!!!
What's the 0-60 and quarter mile time?
The argument goes back to the 70 Camaro vs 70 Trans Am. The TA had softer springs and stiffer bars the Camaro had the opposite and most people thought the TA was better for the street.
Hi, I am thinking to put KW coilover in my M2C. Could you give me some advise which KW should I use? V3, v4 or clubsport? And do I need to install other component like sway bar, toe link etc like your to make better handling.
Yes! You read that right. 600HP!
I've wanted an M2 since it came out then went and had kids 🙄. Went to a dealer recently whose inventory said they had one cuz I just needed to drive it. They didn't have it but wouldn't let me leave without driving something so the perfect 10 blond pulled out the M4 Competition for us to take out. She was the highlight of the drive. The car was a very fast dead fish. Now I must drive this car.
Very interested in the exact suspension setup. Sways and springs seem like a must.
Did you say x6m with Dinan springs? I’m interested. Gad damn stock suspension is brutally stiff.
Awesome
16:02 somebody had a change of underwear
Thanks for your video !!
Yea so many cars these days have stif suspension like my partner's Kia Cerato Sport.. but cars like the Fiesta ST do actually need it and do actually benifet from it because of front wheel drive (under steer) and to get the front to stick better and have better turn in. But it's not the direct answer to handling for all cars IMO.
owned and F80 and was thinking about an M2 Comp. Earlier this year I got to drive an M2 comp and M5 comp and then the new M340i. I was favoring the M2 right until I pushed the M340 a bit and thought for a daily I would definitely take it over the others. M2 was very tail happy and the back felt like it wanted to come out every time I had the wheel turned a bit.
Paola Sanchez interesting because I had the 340 and i thought that it sucked. The m4 that I have now feels like an entirely different league.
Sergei Naumenko you drove the new G20 M340? I’d do the M4 in the track but on the street the new M340 is everything as good and then some
The optional big brakes on the BMW M2 Competition is so much better than the stock brakes.
I had an M2 which I tracked 6 times before I sold it and bought and M2 competition.
The M2 competition big brakes are so much better. Not just in terms of performance, but in pedal feel. The 4 pots on the old car was a lot more grabby directly, the 6pots have more initial travel and is not as grabby, you need to push the pedal harder. It's a lot better for daily driving.
Didn't know John Malkovich knew so much about BMWs. Neat.
I thought the shock valving was a little abrupt for the street. It would be sweet on track, though.
Please let us know mods made.
Laguna laptimes?
Unwatchable. As many comments have stated you need to gear up and fix the mic situation damn it was annoying. I was really looking forward to hearing the audio from this car.
To much talk, not enough wide open throttle pulls.... blehh... still love the vids.
Looking forward to seeing zack have a go in that M5 comp in the background. My parents just picked one up.
Twas a regular M5, not a comp. But 850HP. 850. From a tune. GET THEM A TUNE FOR XMAS.
TheSmokingTire ah they fooled me with the black accents! Yeah, I’ll have to wait and see what that owner used when the tst video comes out but the race chip tune seems pretty reasonable.
@@lexus_offroad_adventures whatever you do don't put a race chip on that car. Or any car.
AllCategoryChannel really? Did you have a bad experience? Please do tell
This is a 2019 model right?
What color is that? I neeeeeed it!
An intercooler adds 150+ hp?
What does he drive ?
M cars generally speaking, always needed a spiff on the brakes. Usually that means just track pads and maybe steel braided brake lines (from frame to hub). For me personally, the six pot calipers are way too heavy. Otherwise, nice car. I bet it surprises a lot of other car/drivers on the road!
Would be nice if you wrote the mods that have been done in the car.
Stock intake and exhaust except charge pipe. FullHe said it all in the vid.
MODS:
Charge Air cooler
Coil over sleeve kit
Monoball bushings in front
Toe links in back
Added to description. I uploaded this at 2am last night and wasnt thinking.
Not bad. What a way to introduce this video
... "this car is 600hp."
Agree on compliance being neglected these days. Rev rev rev lol there are other gears!
Isn't Marc worried about the crank hub slipping with a tune like that? That's the only reason I haven't tuned mine
Let’s face it, the current M2 Competition is the best true “M car” BMW makes. It’s a rockstar. I dumped a Porsche 911 C4S for the new M2C and moved away from the Porsche 992 that is a mess and a far cry from what a proper 911 once was.
Every computer box with torque vectoring / management or /and unbeatable stability management feels like someone else is in control of the car (especially Z-axis rotation / angular acceleration). Most car companies in the business of making sports car are after lap times rather than enjoyment. And those two things have parted ways.
I thought the owner was Bruce Willis. LOL
Beautiful car and tasteful mods, congrats... but I can't trust a guy claiming 600 M2C horsepower with only a pump gas tune and charge cooler smh... and turbo cars don't gain anything from an exhaust... really.. turbos don't dampen the sound on a factory turbo engine... it sounds how it sounds... that's sometimes a factor when adding a turbo to a factory N/A car... full exhaust on an s55 ABSOLUTELY changes the pitch and decibel level... This guy
Crank hub is crying 😢
no crank huB?
Various vendors offer ECU flashing for this car, with similar power increases, but require 95-97 octane (vendors based in Europe). I wonder what octane this mod requires.
Just regular pump 93 or 91. I have had this tune now for almost 2 years its insane.
Dude! Up shift please. It was painful to hear the car in that awkward, non accelerating mid RPMs.
You have to battle the guy below that told me I was in 3rd and should have sat in 2nd.
Jackson Tan I get that but he was just chilling in high revs, it’s better to go through the gears rather then holding high revs
@@KEYEZ410 why? That's the pt of high torque car. So no need to keep shifting I had a s2k. Had to shift all the time cause no torque
He just must drive like this cause I was hearing the same thing as well even in the Cadillac video
Talking bout suspensions - yeh it got stiffer
Me- dang u guys must of tracked every car huh
Truly the king of error code generators.
No to the error codes due to software instead of cheater boxes. Will not trigger warranty or emissions codes and does not disable any safety systems. Keeps full diagnostics.
@@deweythomas6339 The Noelle Performance tune had no error codes or issues. The guy that founded Noelle was the chief engineer for Alpina for a while, so he is not a man that accepts error codes due to tunes. ZK
Does anyone understand how he got 600hp? I’m about to buy one and it’s because I need a business car/ the wife is sick of my crazy loud Evo. He has 600hp with just a tune and stock exhaust?
Please tell me the secret magical ways
I am in third gear (all the time)
Great car, like what has been done to this. Need to up the mic game - things rattling around in corners and all sorts.
could have been, now you mention it. i know it must be difficult to capture anyway still loved the vid
Love the M2, but please Zach, shift, every one of these with you driving is just you in one gear with both hands tightly around the wheel 😅
Please tell me that Matt Farah is the voice on the Crown and Caliber youtube ads.... otherwise I am going insane.....
Who can give you 600hp on one of these in the Uk?
nice job Zach
That road is not fair for a 600HP M2!!
What a car. I can't wait to drive one and possibly own it.
About the audio: We boosted the audio as much as possible. Any higher and the ambient noise was also getting elevated quite a lot. The recorder is (and has always been) set to auto-compress/limit. It works great 90% of the time, but some cars (911s/flat 6 engines, and BMWs) have a tone that seems to reach the mic more than a V8, or I-4. So the recorder is "hearing" all this high frequency noise, and it turns down its sensitivity, making it hard to hear our voices over the engine. Editing 911 videos is always a nightmare, for this reason.
The things flapping around in the back was a little annoying too, I know these aren’t your cars tho. Just fyi. Also great job
A shame the video isn't really watchable for some, but what were you guys supposed to do? Call the guy back out and say "hey can we do that video all over again because it was hard to hear you?"
@Tuco Salamanca a lot of people in the comments apparently, lol
Sounds like a powered mic in the trunk
Mic 6" from the guy's mouth: CZcams CC - [Shnarble gooby, mubby bucket]. Tupperware container under the seat: [The shelling is getting closer now, we should seek cover.]
If there is one plus, at 16:09 and 20:14 while you are driving, it just says [Music]. I also could hear you just fine Zack.
