Can looking at a screen make your ears stop working? Gillian Murphy describes her research inspired by her boyfriends games console.
Gillian is a Lecturer in Applied Psychology at University College Cork and has undertaken a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, funded by the Irish Research Council. Gillian’s research was looking at driving behaviour, seeking to understand how and why drivers’ attention can fail.
Gillian is especially interested in applied research and is passionate about using psychology research to improve our everyday lives. When not in the driving simulation lab she can be found in a dance studio, teaching contemporary dance to children and adults.
Im Autistic & have mutiple other disorders. It's true I have a hard time hearing someone when my attention is focused on something in front of me like my phone or computer. Ive had to ask mutiple times "repeat that" to the person talking to me, because i swear I still couldnt hear them.
can thinking something can make you deaf blind senseless at the same time ?
once i was in class they was alot of noise i didnt even reacted to anything hapening in my surroundings
I do have a problem with selective hearing. I have 4k hearing but when I'm tired or I have reached my limit of bs I am prone to reflexes. This is not a new phenomenon. Since I don't have signal on these phones or anything like that, and am often presented with live action voicemail skits, I can get a little snippy snappy.
The one dislike is Aiden 😅
When she said she looked into Aidans brain. I thought that Aiden was no longer with us.
What ever happened to knocking on his door and asking him the question? Biased view imo.
