Awesome, thanks so much for uploading this! For anyone else having a hard time opening the tray, push down behind the laser but only push on the gray assembly. The gray assembly will bump down and allow the tray to slide out easily. I'll be fixing mine once the part comes in!
While I appreciate the repair vid., how do you gloss over the most important part of opening the tray.Took me an hour but here's the fix.There is a white plastic gear on the right rail { the one with the gold washer in front of it ] Push it gently away to the right from the cog it engages and the bottom assembly will drop down and the tray will pop out. You can get away without removing the whole CD assembly ,the pulley is right in the front use a pair of tweezers and slip the belt on.For a quick fix you can use an O-ring washer to replace the beltLast one I put on lasted a few years and worked fine.
I know this is an old post, but I have mine apart , where on earth are you seeing this pulley next to the right rail? no matter which way I turn the player to look I completely cannot see it or access it in any way, I'm trying to get the drawer to open and you cant lightly even push it out while it is attempting to eject or slide it open, any assistance you can provide will help. they make it sound like you just do it and it comes out, the thing won't budge.

I didn't have a problem getting mine to open so I didn't include any information on that because I don't have any.
