Nice Shootout , I use the Cali Compact and UA 1176 pedal, love them both : Cali adds a lot of colour and UA is the opposite very clear and cutting edge , maybe it's digital nature ....

MXR for most uses, UAFX 1176 for grit.

Compressors and limiting amplifiers are not the same, right?

The ratio is usually what makes the difference between a compressor and a limiter but in the case of the 1176, it’s both at the same time 😜

@@DavidCaraccio I have a Keeley GC2 limiting amplifier (using for bass on my pedalboard); it has compression, gain and threshold as controls - no ratio. I am wondering if I should be using a compression pedal instead?

@@larsetom1 the GC-2 is a nice compressor and actually the ratio is set by the knob labeled « compression ».
