📸In this video, we walk into the Beautiful Cottage and the tranquillity of rural living in England.
The historic, scenic English countryside is home to fairytale-style thatched roof cottages. These unique roofs keep houses cool in summer and warm in winter. Despite their durability, lasting up to 25 years.
The Cotswolds region in England offers dreamy thatched cottages amidst beautiful English landscape gardens. Today, I'll take you on a tour of the beautiful Anne Hathaway Cottage in the Cotswolds. Originally a farmhouse, this 500-year-old cottage was the childhood home of William Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway, and has now been converted into a museum. Visitors can tour the Anne Hathaway Cottage and its museum for an adult admission price of £14.50. This journey through history and architecture offers a unique glimpse into rural English life and the timeless appeal of the countryside.
As we explore, notice the deep overhang of the thatch, which protects the walls and keeps the house warm and dry. You’ll also see how the thatched roof is carefully maintained with special straws.
📍Ashton under Hill
The picturesque village of Ashton under Hill, situated in the Cotswolds, England, is a perfect example of the quintessential English village. Small, warm, and welcoming, Ashton under Hill reflects the classic ‘English character’ that makes rural villages so endearing.
Ashton under Hill is a favourite destination for walkers, offering a range of public paths and scenic views that showcase the natural beauty of the area.
📍Biddestone
A small, rural and rather picturesque village in northwest Wiltshire, England, with a population of a few hundred. The residents are super friendly. Some locals invited me to their special cricket events in the evening served with BBQ and live music, I enjoyed my evening and I had a good time with the locals.
📍Lacock
Considered by and large to be one of the prettiest in the Cotswolds.
well-known for a host of film and TV productions including Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. This easy walk takes you around the beautiful medieval village and Picturesque cottages.

Such wonderful villages and beautiful homes. When I saw Biddestone, I thought: please show Elm Cottage (Agatha Raisin`s home in the tv series) and at 12:55 there it was! It is gorgeous. 💜

The beauty and serenity is astonishing! I have always felt my small village in the U.S. was always the best and yet when I see the Cotswalds I realize I wold not mind having been born ther and had that chance to grow up with such love and kindness and beautry around me too. My family loved flowers and the home being cozy and this is exactly what we see here. the older thatched roofs do add something entirely different than here, and yet it is carrying with it such personality.
