  • Using alternative area formulas for triangles like Heron's Formula and the Area of an Oblique Triangle formula I work through two examples of finding the area of a segment in a circle. EXAMPLES at 3:30 7:49 NOTE: As you can read by the title we are finding Segment Areas, so please ignore the 5 or 6 times in this lesson I say sector area when I should be saying segment area!!! Professor RobBob ,thank you for another monster video/lecture on Segment Area in Circles Quicker Methods in Plane Geometry. These are practical topics in Plane/Analytical Geometry and all students should be building a formula toolbox in basic Mathematics.

    Just wondering... so I've learned a method of solving segment area using special triangles... can you divide the triangle into 45-45-90 triangles when trying to find the area of the triangle (to subtract from the sector)?
    Sorry, it might be unclear... tried my best!

    • @profrobbob
      @profrobbob  Před 7 lety

      Your central angle will have to be 90 degrees for your technique to work, but that will not always be the case:) Thank you for watching and spreading the word about my math channel.
