In Indonesia, the standard voltage from PLN are :
      6kV, 12kV, and 20kV for medium voltage,
      30kV, 70kV, and 150kV for high voltage,
275kV and 500kV for extra high voltage.
In medium voltage, the 6kV lines are not used anymore. The 12kV are still used in Sumatra, Borneo, and Celebes. But in future will no longer used. The 20kV become the main voltage in medium voltage.
In high voltage, the 30kV line is no longer used, but in some areas still used to supply electricity from small hydropower or converted to 20kV for supply villages in difficult terrain. The 70kV lines in future will no longer be used because it will be upgrade to 150kV. The 150kV line become the main voltage in high voltage. But in several area, the 150kV lines are upgraded to 275kV or 500kV.
In Extra High Voltage, 275kV used for backbone in Sumatra, interconnection Malaysia-Indonesia (SEB-PLN), and supply electricity from Poso Hydropower to Palopo. The 500kV still used in Java Island. But, in future, the 500kV will be used in Sumatra, Borneo, Bali, and Celebes.
      Sorry for bad english :)

Terimakasih

    • @neutronenstern.
      @neutronenstern. Před rokem

Well just think about one thing, then you will realize, why we really need such high voltages:
If you want to transmitte a power of 1GW (bether 1GVA because of AC vs DC)
then if lets say the max current the wire can handle is 10000A, which really is a LOT of current, the voltage has to be at 100000V to be able to transmitte 1GW. If you want to transmitte 10GW of power, you will need 1MV if the max current of all cables together is 10000A.
Handling lots of amps is hard, because it will produce heat and thus losses, and you need thick wires, and handling lots of vokts is hard, because of isolation, and also losses due to corona discharge, and at AC also losses due to electrostatic influence.
These MV lines are probably at the technical limit, and also the limit, where more voltage doesnt mean higher effictivity, but rather less i think.
And i think thats what makes them so cool. They show out limits, and also show how big isolators for this voltage are, and thus also how far an arc could possibly jump due to this voltage. This really is crazy stuff.

@@Jemalacane0 might be, but still a power line short will be way worse. A lightning stike lasts maybe only a ms. These shorts last, until something melts down.
This would be clearly terrifying, because the fuse for these if there is one, will be probably like for 10000A of continuous current.
I think one cant imagine how bad such a fault would be.

Because at a voltage of one million volts you would probably be instantly vaporised and not be alive long enough to feel much pain. It would be virtually instant death, you would almost literally cease to exist almost instantly at a voltage that high

When physical scale increases to nearly insane proportions, such as 1.2 and 2.4-mV, the structures become eyesores. Furthermore, the damage inflicted by storm or sabotage, threatens a vital link. One hour outage for 345-kV is equal to a loss of $1M. Think of outage restoration time and losses for such high voltages in the UHV levels. Furthermore, the use of high phase order can transmit similar bulk power if properly designed. There are many problems associated with obtaining ROW and easements with such lines. Think of the "neighbors" and what they might suffer.
