I'm a pro drummer who has used and trashed many different headphones and tho I got my M-200's for 300.00 I'm more than happy with them. I got a pair of crossfades and M-100 a few years back to use for stage/studio and they are still functioning 100% after getting a complete beatdown, they are the most bomber build I've used for sure. I do notice distortion at higher lvl but I use a limiter most of the time for stage monitoring which does help their performance. IDK if you're looking for bomber v-moda is good to go

I still have my M100 and it was my favorite headphones ever, I beat it to pulp and now is still in desperate condition. Sadly Val was struggling financially and part of the company if not in its entirety got sold off.
This M200 look nostalgic to me, but now enough to justify the steep high price and lack of features. That's very sad.

Fun fact. M-200 ANC baseline sound is flat like their studio focused wired only counterpart. You need to use the app to EQ the headphones. Also. V-moda doesn't say this anywhere.. but you need 40+ hrs to burn in the drivers. Anyone buying expensive headphones and not properly burning them in probably shouldn't be into expensive headphones. The standard M-200s were underwhelming @ $350 until I burned them in and applied a custom EQ for gaming or music. Even flat, the base M-200s sound really good for what their intended use.

Thank you for the review. I’ve been a big fan of V-Moda since the Crossfade Wireless. I can’t believe that the 3 buttons that controls the volume and play are still very mushy. For $500, I would rather get a pair of Sony’s and Bose or an AirPod Max. Very disappointing. Seems almost like a cash grab for V-Moda.

I got these about two weeks ago and don't have the same complaints that this reviewer has BUT I haven't tried all of the other headphones he has either. I do feel that these were overpriced as the quality of certain aspects has dropped since Roland bought V-Moda, but these are worth around $400, at the full retail I am considering returning them since I'm still within the 60 day period. They're good enough but at this price point I expected better.

@@CybertroninfiniteOfficial I hadn't ever purchased anything from Roland or even did any research on them but since I had been a V-Moda customer for over a decade I thought that these would be much more of an upgrade and would have a similar level of quality as the other products I've bought from them since 2008. After nearly 2 months I'm still kinda... indifferent to these. I like the app but any equalizer app should do similar things. I like the fact that they charge via USB C, but that's not really a big deal. They sound good but not that different from the Crossfade Wireless 2 Codex edition that I got in October

  • @jesusrios9482

Unfortunately as much as I wanted to like these headphones I have to agree 100% with everything this guy just said. I have a pair of wired v-moda's the first ones that came out and I prefer them instead of these. The sound is horrifying. I really don't give a s*** about noise cancellation but the noise cancellation is trash. The build quality is excellent for absolutely not $500 excellent. And on top of that the app never worked. So I actually prefer the older vintage v-moda's than this new models. But lucky for me I paid 20 bucks for mines. I just never thought that I was getting $20 of quality.

The sound is actually quite good and the base works very well also and especially with the new App equalizer, the ANC works very well for me.
