So sorry -my thumbnail got ripped off but Cincin decided he wanted a head scritch before I could file it. I had dreamily took out 3 fat pinfeathers before I realized what I was doing, and filmed the rest.
Cincin is so sweet! Loves the head scratches. 🩶💛🧡

I just noticed that Cincin is missing a nail. What happend?
Good question. A while back I left him with a bird sitter because I had some final exams and I couldn't give him as much time as I could. This was back in 2010.
I was leaving and closing the door to the aviary when he suddenly flew right behind me, and landed on the door. I couldn't stop the door in time, and it crushed his little toe. Thankfully I didn't close the door the whole way because his whole foot might have been crushed.
I rushed him to the vet where they assessed him and bandaged up his foot, but on his second checkup, his toe had gone through necrosis and just dropped off when the doctor was unravelling the bandages. Ah, my heart TT. I still feel horrible about it. Always make sure the birds are inside a cage when opening/closing a door. They're so fast and unpredictable.
