The beauty of scrapping isn’t only the money we make. It’s the cool stuff we find for free, and never having to buy hardly anything to build projects from!

If you dump the smelted and dump it into another drum of water, the slag and ash should float while the aluminum drops clean.

IMHO, I see so many work at melting a full crucible for ingots and such like it's that important when the often result are poor, irregular ingots until the level of metal in the crucible gets down to a manageable level. Why not start with a manageable level to begin with? The melt time for using lower levels of metal can't be that much more, can it? I can understand using full crucibles for sand casting though.

Just watching you pour, if you had the moulds on the outer edge of the table closest to you, could you pour with the crucible overhanging the grass but closer to the moulds so as to avoid the dripping and splashing maybe giving you better control , just a thought I've never poured molten metal

Where do you sell your melted ingots most places want buy it because of those putting other heavier weight in the middle to get more for it . There should be a calculation for size of ingots so weight is with in a tolerance for pure material melted.
