    To carry the front panel with the folded table, add some more threaded inserts to the legs when folded nd use the thumb screws to hold it onto the folded legs. Then you can carry it with the table folded and it will prevent the legs from swinging out when being carried.

  • @envoycdx
    @envoycdx Před měsícem +2

    For the storage of the panel, use more threaded inserts and and the star knobs, that way its all together and they won't go missing.

  • @matthewoxley7675
    @matthewoxley7675 Před měsícem +1

    You could also hinge the front of top pannel so open it up unfold legs and use the star knobs to secure to bottom front legs when packed away use same star knobs to secure front panel so the table is completely boxed in

  • @c.a.g.1977
    @c.a.g.1977 Před měsícem +1

    Matt, maybe an easy fix for the front panel:
    turn the table upside down, fold the legs down, lay the front panel om top of it and drill the four holes, add threaded inserts and voila: stored the panel and locked the legs all in one take

    A few more inserts and your star knobs could hold the front panel on the underside during transport.

    Matt this looks great! If you close the legs down then could you insert some threaded inserts into the legs and then you could just attach the front pannel to the underside using that?

    Nice job Matt why don't you just add threaded inserts to the table top and use the star knobs to fix the front panel to it for carrying then once it's set up you'll hardly see the inserts on the top when the table is covered in items. Great build mate

  • @davidhull2060
    @davidhull2060 Před měsícem

    Nice job. The front panel needs to be attached with hinges so that it folds down when the legs are deployed. It could probably be secured to the bottom of the unfolded legs with rare earth magnets or shoot bolts, thus eliminating the need for separate knobs.
    A good finish for the OSB top, is to paint it black (or whatever colour you like) and then sand it, leaving the colour in the low spots...coat of varnish on top and it looks great.

    Hi Matt, That is a nice folding table, like you said it will be good for you mate's stall and handy as a display table at a car boot sale. Nice and solid that is needed for a portable table Like the stain on the OSB table top and the black board paint on the sides and front a great finish. Just a thought the front panel could you fit another clasp to attach a strap or cut out a hand hole at the bottom of the board. As always a great video, Take care

    Do the holes in the front panel line up with the frame for the unfolded legs? If so then just use more threaded inserts and attach it to the underneath of the table when not in use and when it is up you can probably us the spare threaded inserts to have some hooks screwed I for display. But other than that it's a great project.

  • @simonr6793
    @simonr6793 Před měsícem

    Matt, why don't you use some of the magnets to hold the panel on the table while it's in the storage position then your not having to carry the front panel separately!

  • @RunarMagnussen
    @RunarMagnussen Před měsícem

    That's a great design! I don't need another portable table, but I'm still tempted to give it a go.
    For the front panel, maybe you could have it hinged to where the inside of the frame meets the table top? So that it folds down after the legs come out and attach to some cleats on the inside of the legs.
    It would perhaps mandate a bit of a redesign though, and because I'm Norwegian I might make little sense. Happy to explain further if what I wrote is confusing!

    An interesting idea Matt, and it came out good and solid, they did you a favour insisting on a "modesty panel" as that stiffens up the legs really well, if it didn't need to be the whole depth you might be able to alter the design a little to incorporate it against the top between the folded legs, but that might impact on the depth of your side shelves a little !
