Top tip dont do service stuff outside your garage
Take it inside and shut the door. Also keep an eye if anyone follows you into your street. If in doubt turn around and come bk in 5 mins.😀
Another thing I do is turn into the housing estate from the opposite side that you would normally and ride slowly checking yer mirrors for dodgy types following.
Cameras cameras cameras
Mate has scaffolding behind his garage door that is lockable and slows someone down, takes him ages to get his bike out
Simple solution chops.. A recording of TMF doing the bike news will keep them away
I need that to stop the mrs and the kids finding me 😂
Interesting subject thanks LCR. Agreed it’s definitely down too layered security. I use floor anchors for both wheels plus bike has its own alarm. My Garage is integral to my home which is also covered by a monitored alarm and CCTV. Bloody ridiculous really but unfortunately necessary 🙃
I also have "ridiculous" layered security measures made necessary by local thieves who were after my bike. As a first line of defence I suggest loud vibration alarms set to sensitive coupled with more than one heavy duty hasps/locks. It is a strong combination forcing thieves to spend a significant amount of time making a lot of noise before they can even get in. This alone will stop 99% of attempts before they even begin or shortly after.
I can’t recommend Dave and his team enough. They installed a guardsman for me after I won the Panigale from BeMoto 👍
I don’t have a garage but here I am
😂
“No officer, I definitely do not keep a baseball bat by my bed just in case someone tries to break in!” 😳
If you have a baseball bat at home or in the car, it's a very good idea to have a catchers mit as well. Makes explaining to any interested parties a lot easier!
Little known fact, most bikers are avid baseball fans and spend most of their free time practicing, ocifer!
Some people are kinky and may use a baseball bat for other activities... just saying. 🫣
Me too
This is where large Maglites come in handy - it's a torch that you can use to search for intruders that just coincidentally doubles up as a bat. 😉
As long as you also have a baseball with it, it can't be proved you kept it for a weapon, it just happened to be there. Best not kept under a bed but in the hallway.
I got the Verisure Zero Vision installed in my garage. Fantastic system. Can keep an eye on my garage when I’m on holiday
Great video, for the side door put a metal gate fitted to the frame with welded fittings and multiple locks it would take an hr to grind through, having locks is great, the Missenden Flyer has a bar across the garage door, all of these ideas are great and worth the money and effort, the more locks/cctv/alarms/trackers the better, i have one extra security feature with a loud growl and big teeth although he is getting on now, it would be a brave thief that woukd risk it 😂
Thanks Chops, very helpful.
The more security, the better , well worth watching great little video,
Thanks Martin.
Definitely a good idea 💡
These boys are great and done all my garage security - even better a local firm to me in midlands 🤛🏼🤛🏼
Many thanks!
Top job . Sleep with a smile .
Great security products chops 👍
Thanks.
love these bloopers
Nice 1 Lamb Chop
Lovin' the flip-flops Chopsey 😁😁
Haha, steal toe caps don't you know 😄👍
Great vid. Love these security vids. Always very satisfying knowing that you're thwarting the thieving scumbags!
I had to come to the comments to see all the “this tool will get through that” comments but it appears I am too early… will check back later!
Did you come back lol. My tool would be a portable angle grinder - be in within 5 mins !!!
@@darylclifford Haha I didn’t, but here I am now 😂
@@Mockle07 nice to see my msg got there. Cheers from Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺🦘🐨🍺
@@darylclifford Thanks for the laugh sir! 🍻
Nice video Chops, love the bloopers 😂 I’ve got an up and over door currently with a soak away drain and block paved driveway. Can the defenders be mounted inside the garage on the concrete slab given there’s a second access point?
Garden gates & big chains in my garage👌
To compliment these security barriers put vibration alarms on both doors and set them to most sensitive, so as soon as someone starts messing around they get a loud piercing deterrent noise. There are systems that can call your mobile too.
Great stuff, now you’ve got a bunch of keys bigger than a jailer. 😂
Well two keys..
The defender is a nice idea. Right up until the point you forget it's there and try and send the roller up. 😬😅
Haha yes don't forget it!!
Nice way to blow a door lift motor !! Just make sure it doesn’t catch fire 😅
Check out Lathams steel doors for the side door, they are brilliant.
Ah OK Jamie will do 👍
Exactly what I was going to say 👍
We need these in Australia wonder if they would ship to overseas .
The Defenders are a very good product but for a side door I would suggest replacing it with a STEEL door c/w deadlocks - there are a variety of styles and the prices are within reason.
I was robbed in February, they took the window out. They didn’t get any of my bikes, but took all off my professional tools”snap on”all of my building and Shitl garden maintenance tools... totally gutted me...
My bike sits behind locked cars so they’d have to break-in and steal a car - then my bikes front wheel has a chain-lock. Also i have an alarm with a high quality intelligent movement sensor. In the garage too..
Surely if someone sees that thing on the outside of the door they must know there’s something worth knocking inside, or is that just me, in my experience they just drive a stolen pickup through the door anyway forget the angle grinder they use the Ford Ranger key
But they would also need to ram the two cars infront of the garage also.
Well since they’re carrying angle grinders they’d just steal both cars catalytic converters - then sell them 👍
Awesome product and what a lovely guy. I'll be using these guys in the future. More importantly... When are the Lamb Chops sliders on sale? 😅
Haha new line of merch... LCR socks and sliders combo! 😆
😆
Any plans to come to Poole soon?
Greg Davies looks like you haha!
Very interesting.
What does the _Lock Picking Lawyer_ think about the security and integrity of the locks? Ta!
Hi Newton,
The lock picking lawyer is brilliant at what he does, picking locks. Unfortunately, if you've watched his videos, there isn't a lock he can't pick. In reality opportunist thieves don't go around picking locks, they haven't the time or the skill.
Cheers,
Dave
what’s on your feet!
And where’s the Hypermotard?
isnt there still room for a right angle drill adaptor?
That guardsman is useless, once they are in it’s game over. You have to stop them getting in in the first place, they’ll just carry the bike over the barrier. For the price of it you can just fit a security door that can’t be put in in a month of Sundays.
Thank you for posting. A shame it is not sold in the USA. A question about the defender. Why place the lock on the outside of the garage? I would think it would be best if installed inside the garage.
Pits & Pews, available in USA😊
Because of the floor matts, just made it more complicated 👍
Morning, I was looking at the garage door lock but I have a block paving driveway. How are you going to secure the bolts as the blocks will obviously just lift up. Do you need to lay a concrete pot or pad in to ground to bolt into ? That was what I thought but was interested in the suppliers opinion! 😊
You can also mount the defender inside the garage (if you have a side door) would that help?
@@LambChopRides good idea but mine is a up and over at the moment...I think it might be a case of side bolts near the bottom....side note, any more off road stuff coming or bike days out like you did with young Womble? I really want to do the triumph one!
It would be worth knowing that if your alarms were going off if someone tried to angle grind their way in how long the police would take to turn up.
Interesting view on the grinder being too small. A 9” cutting disc will fit on a 4.5” grinder without a guard, Thieves are not hse compliant so i have no doubt their guards are removed and could cut the first one no bother.
Fingers crossed they are decent lock barrels with a good degree of pick resistance. If you follow The Lock Picking Lawyer you will know that this can be a major weak point for any skilled attach
Yes but most thief's are grunts with an angle grinder and pry bar. Not many skilled thief's
The reality is that your common thief isn't skilled or has the time to pick locks like the lock picking lawyer so in reality this isn't a common method of attack.
Cheers,
Dave
I’ve got ACO drains across the front of my roller, could I fit the floor lock the opposite way round with the lock inside?
Yes you can mount inside too, if you have another access to the garage obviously 😉
mount a wire with 220V on it on the inside.......on leg hight......
What's to stop the crims from angle grinding the garage door around the Defender?
There’s absolutely nothing to stop them !!! Plus most people are used to hearing power tools being used around their neighbours homes these days..
I wonder why you dont put the defender on the inside of your garage door?
@@Sarj_ent Not quite. The bolts are underneath the garage door. Also you need a second access point, other than your garage door to be able to secure the garage door from the inside. Is this the case for yourself?
Hi! One does'nt have to lift them over.. two planks with a hinge in the middle . Put the hinge on the guardsman and wheel them up and down. I would still have disc locks on the bikes to slow them down. The alarm is a good idea as long as your home
Yes but they need to know its there before breaking in.. don't expect they normally carry two hinged planks around as part of the bike theft tool kit
@@LambChopRides You haven't heard of the "Two plank gang". wow your lucky
Have these lot folded / gone bust now? Cant find there products or get in touch
Yeah think so...
Just watched this and thought the shed door guardsman would be perfect for me so rang the company to be told they don't make them any more only the garage door ones which are useless to me 😢 FFS this video was only put up a couple of months ago!!
Yeah it's all changed now, they are only concentrating on the garage barrier for the time being now.
Do you know if this company is still active lamb chops? Can’t seem to find a website that’s working
No don't think so Kevin 😕
Hate to say it but you can get bigger grinder discs then the standard 4.5" that will reach easily. Thats just based on their comment "that its been designed that a grinder cant reach the centre lock".
Am I missing something here, won’t they just disk the garage door around the lock.
Who is Gairedge?
Do forget to do a review on your baseball bat 😎👍
Police stations should rent out secure storage and then just keep a snotter at home
What on earth are you wearing on your feet at the start? Flip flops with socks?!
Haha yes sorry 🤣👍
I am based in Ilkeston Derbyshire if anyone knows anything
Socks and slides.....you've been told before!
In know, I know, final warning 😄👍
@@LambChopRides Next time it'll be a CZcams warning!......you making the TT this year?
No chops, socks and flip flops
I know haha sorry 😆👍
I've got a guardsman fitted, had to pay for it myself though😢
2:33 what a silly comment to make
Why did you buy a house in such a bad neighborhood ? If you need that much security
Mine looks like a cheap Costco and a grenade going off.
Nothing to see here move on.
😮
All good and well but it’s no match for a stihl saw sorry
It's really about stopping anyone sneaking in. If someone is willing to come around tooled up with electric power tools and saws and make loads of noise... you won't stop them
That’s the problem they just don’t care if they want it they will get it sad but true
And due to u mate aye went out and got a GSXs 750 as my first road bike and love it
Would have thought the guardsman should be about a foot higher.
@@rogbar8747 Why so Roger?
Oh Chopsy, are you really wearing socks and sliders? 🤦🏻
Dust sheet
American security measures is an AR-15 loaded with 30 rounds and no questions 😊
No PPE 🤭
Those are steal tip sliders! 😁👍
@@LambChopRides No I meant the guys installing the security
