They already have Engine players, so it doesn't make sense to have both Brunson and Maxey on the bench; especially when they might go big starting Paolo or Chet with Booker at point guard. Jalen Williams is more suited to being that supporting piece the team can actually use, and if someone is only going to play specific matchups then the team has more need for a Giant like Clingan.

I think if you start early, and pinpoint your players role and responsibilities, executing your plays will be a lot easier. Thr avengers assembled just a month before the tournament, but they still win however you can really see that they lack chemistry. They rely on threes but no play. Look at Shroeder, hes not even rank top 15 best pg in the NBA but he clearly understands his role in Team Germany thats they got the fourth place. With Serbia, The offense is initiated by Jokic, and his teammates knows where to put themselves to make a play. Expcetion however are Luka and Giannis who both the center of the offense but their teammates couldnt keep up with them. Howecer the chemistry is there. Canada is just the poormans USA, no bigman you can trust. But it will change with Edey. You have all the talent. But you must start your training camp as early as possible. The world has not caught up with you in terms of talent. The world just know the team game basketball.
I think if you start early, and pinpoint your players role and responsibilities, executing your plays will be a lot easier.
Thr avengers assembled just a month before the tournament, but they still win however you can really see that they lack chemistry. They rely on threes but no play.

With Serbia, The offense is initiated by Jokic, and his teammates knows where to put themselves to make a play.
Expcetion however are Luka and Giannis who both the center of the offense but their teammates couldnt keep up with them. Howecer the chemistry is there.
Canada is just the poormans USA, no bigman you can trust. But it will change with Edey.
No USA is still the most talented, but they need to nurture their chemistry, know their roles and plot lots of playe for crunch time situation.

He was TERRIBLE in FIBA because his NBA skillset that the Knicks use are useless on a stacked roster! Brunson has been the most ball dominant player in the ENTIRE NBA for 2 straight years. Team USA doesn’t need a ball dominant SMALL guard like Brunson! He was ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE in FIBA!
