i was put on hold for 15 minutes the one time i decided to call. Luckily, I wasn't suicidal at the time, I just needed someone to talk to cause I was having a breakdown but imagine if I was actually on the verge of suicide. Absurdly irresponsible on their part
I work at a hot line but it's unfortunate but there's only so many counselors to talk to there are times where there is a long wait time due to high call volumes . So we need to encourage more people to become counselors
One thing I can relate this too is how the lazy mutha fockas always slack off at work and be rude and mess up but usualy the first out the door fired is the hardworker you work hard everyday say you mess up once and they fire yo ass off the rip cause they don't wana promote u and pay you more but they keep the lazy worker so they never have to promote him or her than when they get to many complaints to then they finaly replace them with another lazy fool.
I once felt so low I actually called the hotline after calling out to work, because I might as well have at that point. I ended up waiting 6 or something minutes without an answer. I backed out thinking "Well, it is early in the morning, they're tired and probably swamped with other Monday Morning Ideators like me. I'll just call them again later." Eventually, I was fine so I didn't have to. But God, am I grateful I wasn't on the edge of something! I say this to say that if there is anybody who feels the need to call the hotline, please keep in mind that the phone doesn't pick up in the first ten seconds it rings. It takes a moment for them to get to you. There's a whole lot of people hurting in the world and there sometimes isn't enough first responders at these hotline centers. But they *will* get to you, I promise!
Legit, last time I called them, the first two reps told me that my situation was all my fault and that I need to think about my actions. I was simply feeling depressed. I'll never call them again.
I actually prevented someone from killing their self in a PlayStation Party chat once he told me he had his knife right to his neck wasn’t for me he would of just ended it all me and him became close friends he ended up switching up on me but I guess thts how life works
