When I was younger I absolutely loved Sonic Unleashed on the Playstation 2 without knowing that the Playstation 3 even existed, I just bought the game and enjoyed it a lot. When I found out years later that the HD versions existed I was confused yet extremely intrigued by the idea that levels were just completely different, let alone the fact so many got cut out. It was still a great game though, and it makes me happy that you still enjoyed it despite owning the HD versions too. :)
I know that some other people have already said this, but I really do like how you’re using the “Scott” formula in this video. I think it works quite well.
Hardman To me it seems that AVGN set the standard for the previous generation of creators. Scott, from what I’ve seen, is setting the standard for the next generation. I think he has changed the game in that regard.
This video hit me hard as someone who played MW3, World At War, Sonic Unleashed, Colors and many other games on the Wii until I finally was able to buy my PS3. Great video Jon and keep up the great content!
I just want to mention how good where the Football/Soccer games on the WiiPES had a unique control sheme using the wii remote to direct multiple players at the same timeAnd FIFA had multiple unique and reworked modes including street football from FIFA Street
Need For Speed also played the Wii porting game. They started with 2006's Carbon being basically the same as on every other system, since the game was released for GC, XBox, and PS2 as well as 360 and PS3. Then in 2007 there was Prostreet. Unlike Carbon where you could use the nunchuck to steer, all you had was a Wii remote with motion controls. The game also cut some of the cars, had a much more shallow system of damage to your car, and looked a lot worse. This version was also on the PS2, without the motion controls. After this, the games Undercover, Hot Pursuit, and The Run all had Wii versions with a different developer, and were different games than their HD versions. Their similarities pretty much only came from sharing their name and box art. The Wii also got Nitro as a Wii exclusive in 2009, a more arcadey style of game than usual to counter the racing simulator style of Shift that the other consoles received.
One that I remember playing years ago was Star Wars The Force Unleashed. The wii port is like an entirely different game, the levels (that i made it through) we're like tight corridors, while the PS3 version was muuuch more vast. It was night and day in terms of quality. The wonky wii motion controls didn't make the Wii port better either lol
The online modes in the wii COD games used to use the nintendo servers but later received a patch (that lived on your wii's system memory) that allowed it to use activision's servers instead. But guess how they distributed that patch? Nintendo's online servers! So unless you already have the patch from when they switched servers or install it via homebrew, you can't play online. I believe you don't since your footage mentions nintendo WFC, which I believe was also changed with the patch.
I completed Dead Rising on the Wii but I've never managed to finish it on any other format. The Wii version has more of an Arcade feel and I found it a lot easier and more enjoyable to play than the original.
Personally, Sonic Unleashed Wii was my second Sonic game after Colors and I loved it as a kid, though I was a kid that had terrible tastes, but that never changed because I actually still like it
It feels bizarre to me that the Sonic game was released on Wii AND PS2 hahaha. Wii kept going for so long that it feels like they were a lot further apart than they are.
I personally prefer the Wii version of Unleashed. The framerate isn't 12 fps and the boost is more limited and so you have to be more strategic. And I thought the Werehog levels were good (except for Chu-nan). Especially the last few in Eggmanland, it seems they saved their best platforming and combat challenges for the end of the game. I dunno, I just think it's a good time.
It’s official. Jon is now using the tried and true “Scott The Woz Formula.” And I find it scary how much this appeals to me...
I mean Scott the woz is literally in the outro soooooo.
Ngl, doesnt work for Jon. His voice and mannerisms dont lend well to that style.
I'm pretty sure that style dates back all the way to AVGN, but yeah!
Because he was inspired by Gex and Croc.
DRM Sparkles gotta disagree. I looooooove Jon’s new content.!
I missed the uploads!
Yep, me too
How many people had called you Nathaniel, Bandy, Nate, Band, Ban, or even Nathan NB?
His voice is high on his first word in a sentence but gets lower near the end of the sentence.
"I've spent my birthdays and Christmases getting new consoles and games, I was a sad kid" this cracked me up, I can relate to it 😂
only jon can take a break to buy panel de pon. incredible.
2:32 I'm glad I'm not the only one who lost the tip lid for their wii
I think everyone did
@@MichaelVickers2007 not me :)
Ladies and gentlemen. The legend has returned
Guess who's back? Back again? Jon is back. Tell a friend.
Jontron?
Jon the Cartwright: A very Fifa 08 Summer
The "I was a sad kid" immediately cutting to the next line is gold 😂
Jon I really enjoyed this format and would love to see you do more video essay's like this!

I honestly think that the video essay/comedy style is going to be the new big thing. Scott really did change the game.
Hardman To me it seems that AVGN set the standard for the previous generation of creators. Scott, from what I’ve seen, is setting the standard for the next generation. I think he has changed the game in that regard.
Hardman His video structure is very similar to older creators, but there’s just something that feels different about Scott’s format.
I love the randomness of this Channel and also love John, keep going 🤗🙏🏻🥳
Yeah! Make more Music Track Challenges!
Scott the Woz has been quite an inspiration to you and I’m all for it! You give it your own spin and British charm, keep up the great work!
This video hit me hard as someone who played MW3, World At War, Sonic Unleashed, Colors and many other games on the Wii until I finally was able to buy my PS3. Great video Jon and keep up the great content!
Great video. Big fan of Knuckles the Echidna and Frank West so having them appear in the same vid was cool
Really great video Jon. Loving everything you upload on the channel. Keep it up!
I thought this was a Scott the Woz video at first.
LITERALLY CAME HERE TO SAY THE EXACT SAME THING LOL
It basically is
Hey all, Jon here!
This is scott the woz reboot
I like this style of video Jon! Keep it up and I'm sure your channel will grow.
Please, make more of these comparisons. I loved it!
The Wii was such a fascinating system and I doubt we'll see anything like it again.
Great video Jon!

Cool idea for a video. The online for those Wii CoDs was surprisingly okay!
Please keep up with this videos, they're really good!
This was really interesting, good video Jon. I love gyro controls for shooters, it should be a more common thing in games.
Wow, was just watching your other videos and then this came out in a second.
I just want to mention how good where the Football/Soccer games on the WiiPES had a unique control sheme using the wii remote to direct multiple players at the same timeAnd FIFA had multiple unique and reworked modes including street football from FIFA Street
I love your videos!!! They’re so entertaining
I like this “Scott The Woz” formula your using!
Even though I like Scott's videos, it's refreshing to have a similar format without all the virgin sex jokes.
Same lol I had to double check the thumbnail and make sure because I thought it WAS Scott for a minute 😂
@@Ramperdos what are you talking about? The virgin jokes are the best part
@@ZoruaHunter The amount of said jokes are a bit much for me.
...y-yknow scott didnt invent this format right?
I like this “Scott The Woz” format your using! Keep it up!
"Jon the Woz"
Jon i love your videos, you have a good brain
“Just play with the D” Thank you video description
I really liked this video I hope he continues to make videos like this
This was your most Scott the Woz video to date, especially in the first half in terms of format lol
Enjoyed it
I'm hearing more and more of Gravity Rush's music in CZcams videos lately and that makes me very happy.
That Wii Shaking icon looks suggestive
Good under-the-superscope video, i've always loved these.
OMG that handgun sound is unmistakable, didn't expect that
Yo my boy is back!!!
John seems like a guy I’d love to sit down and have a coffee with while we talk about games from our childhood.
That description though: “take the H out of HD and just play with a D”
*insert Lenny face here*
don't forget that sonic 4 on all platforms is 400mb and they somehow got it down to 50mb for the wiiware size limitations

This is the gamer version of Thoughty 2 if he didn't grow out his moustache
Hey all
This AVGN/Scott The Woz style is really good though, keep it up
Its honestly amazing how such a new CZcamsr is able to make such impeccable videos. Well done.
I've missed you Jon!!
We call them a Wiimake :)
Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing was my first ever Sonic game and I have no idea how
Posting an obligatory "What about the Resident Evil 4 Wii port?" comment to help convince the CZcams algorithm to spread this video.
I remember when cod black ops released on Wii.....I only had a wii at the time ....the community was surprisingly huge
Dead Rising Wii is pretty much a Resident Evil 4 Wii Mod
I enjoyed this. Good boy Jon. 👌
So now that you’re leaving GameXplain, does this mean you’re gonna upload to this channel?
It’s sad 😔
Where was this confirmed?
Creator Link I think his Twitter
this could be a series
*first* and wow, it's been a while an upload from you !
I actively dislike comments that say first. You aren't special for being first.
YESSS new video!!!
Guys
I love Scott the Woz, trust me
But he did not invent this style of video making
This isn't the "Scott the Woz formula"
you should rename your channel to British guy talks video games in suits
Or even the British Man With The Blue Suit.
You should check the Wii version of Driver San Francico and Need for Speed games
Anyone know where the outro song is from? It’s driving me crazy!
late on this, but the outro music is from Dr. Mario & Puzzle League (Dr. Mario & Panel de Pon if you’re in Japan)
@@pinksheep752 Thank you! :)

Jon is the GOAT
Can we have a room/collection tour ?
Can you make in more What's That Tracks?
Ahh, that sexy Gravity Rush 2 music
Ok jon, now you gotta do one for the DS ports.
I have resident evil 4 on the Wii, but I haven’t played it yet.

the deepest voice!
I completed Dead Rising on the Wii but I've never managed to finish it on any other format. The Wii version has more of an Arcade feel and I found it a lot easier and more enjoyable to play than the original.
Don’t give yourself a hard time for buying them; Panel de Pon games are the best games.
For some reason the Wii port of Sonic 4 actually has its own unique demake version of the music for some reason.
Because WiiWare.
Personally, Sonic Unleashed Wii was my second Sonic game after Colors and I loved it as a kid, though I was a kid that had terrible tastes, but that never changed because I actually still like it
That moment you realize that this is a demake of a Scott The Woz episode.
The ZachAttack & SkyNine
Lol
I don’t see anything similar except the ending
Sonic 4 needs to be retouched, have the episodes combined... and given some real love.
And Sega should change the name
G.I. Joe on Xbox 360 was so underrated! I wanted to play the Wii one.
It feels bizarre to me that the Sonic game was released on Wii AND PS2 hahaha. Wii kept going for so long that it feels like they were a lot further apart than they are.
IS THAT GRAVITY RUSH 2 I HEAR IN THE BACKGROUND?!
Tbh, I kinda like the Sonic 4 games. However, it's definitely not great. I'm not getting all the Chaos Emeralds.
I personally prefer the Wii version of Unleashed. The framerate isn't 12 fps and the boost is more limited and so you have to be more strategic.

Could we bring back Into the Super Scope on here instead?
DS demakes next?
Go add in HungryBox on What's That Track?
Feels like Scott the Woz mixed with Antdude
His credits style is also based on Arlo.
Can someone tell me what song played at the start it’s so good but I never knew the name
CPW:::ComputerPlayerWill it’s the underwater theme from Tropical Freeze
AZ NEGATIVE THANK YOU!!!
I am judging. I am judging Sega for oily Sonic.
i hope also night at the museum: battle of the smithsonian
Jon what do you think about the rumors about Xbox Live going away?
Hi Jon you’re cool and remember to ignore that obnoxious Kiddy Kong account
British Scott
Heck yes, a new Scott th-
british scott the woz
Shooters were better on Wii/Wii U with IR pointer controls. Shame they didn't go that route with Switch because gyro needs constant resetting.
Can you do the mario
Good video, but why does your carpet looks like concret
"on the PS3 there's also oil but it's not as oily"
