You live in a poor part of Mexico. Many of the young men you see become involved with gangs and get murdered or become vile human beings that run the gangs. You hear about many young women in your neighborhood that are sexually assaulted or raped. You don’t have a “credible” threat to your life or your children’s lives because no ones targeting you personally but you know you or your children could be murdered or assaulted for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
As a parent of two young kids do you try to come to America by any means necessary or if you are denied do you go back to your neighborhood and accept the possibility of death and the complete destruction of your family?
