I kept mine at 90 for the first couple of weeks and she got stressed, so I'd suggest 82-85 instead of 85-90, that's what some breeders suggested. :)

Good tip! I love that you noticed that about your snake and adjusted it 🥰

Hi Elle...I chose a cornsnake about 6 months ago now and living in the desert and the heat coming on, I am constantly checking his humidity level. We rarely have humidity above 20% or so and I can tell it in the snake tank! I would, of course, keep a kingsnake the same way and keep an eye on the humidity. I'm just thinking that the humidity in my house is extremely low and people who live in dry and hot climates should definitely keep an eye on their humidity levels and be ready to fumble for a bit when the seasons get drastic! I've been to Georgia once and it was August...I had never felt humidity like that! Not even in Houston, Texas!

My wife spotted one at her job tonight. We didn't know what it was at first I thought it was a garter snake at first but I had to look it up and seen the pattern.

Kingsnakes are colubrid so the hotspot should be around 85 degress not 90. That is the same as cornsnakes. Kingsnakes have such great colors and are awesome snakes.
Hope all is well with you and family.
    GOD BLESS 🐍💖🐍💖🐍💖🐍💖

Thanks for making this! I love how king snakes look, but I wouldn't be a fan of the musking!

I need help with mine. How do I get him to be more comfortable with being handled? I’ve had him since September. And he never chills he just runs

Kingsnakes don't like anything above 80f they get stressed and tend to strike more...found out the hard way..since dropping temperatures so much better to handle and always out
