Mountain Born: The Jean Ritchie Story

This is a documentary I co-produced and directed with Mr. Guy Mendes for Kentucky Educational Televison. (KET) We shot it in 1995 and it aired in '96. Ms. Jean was wonderful to work with as was her husband, George Pickow an American photographer and filmmaker. The interviews with Ms. Ritchie were done at her home in Long Island, NY as well as their family home cabin located in the hills of Viper, KY. It was an honor to produce this documentary around this Kentucky legend and to meet all the folks who knew her along the way.
