"We" was said in sarcasm, critiquing the legitimate racism (not today's "racism") of that time.

In case you're not aware, charging political opponents with sedition is a popular go-to move of would-be dictators and is usually the first step on the road to authoritarianism. Today it'll be protesters being arrested, tomorrow it will be pundits and journalists speaking out against the Trump Administration on TV, then they'll start arresting people making posts online critical of the administration, then they'll start hauling away people who have been reported on suspicions of seditious activities by their neighbors. And throughout all of this, you'll just shrug and say, "What do I care? I support Trump, so I have nothing to worry about!" But make no mistake, the chickens _will_ come home to roost.

This short clip made me smile through my tears at our nation's loss. This partnership between them is so rare. Many men claim to be feminists- but behind closed doors are ok with their wife doing most of the parenting, scheduling, cooking and cleaning etc. Their love gives me hope that heterosexual marriages can truly make a women's life better.
This is currently a huge barrier for women to reach the highest echelons of political and business success. It is impossible to dedicate yourself the way you must if you are being dragged down by a partner who doesn't pull their weight- if they can't handle planning meals, doing household tasks (without "nagging"), kids scheduling etc.
The way to get to the top is by dedicating time to it. And because her husband understood this, she was able to be The Great RBG AND a mother AND live 87 mostly healthy years.

I only meant that to become the top in your field, you need to dedicate time to it. A major obstacle is that when both spouses work full-time, yet the wife has to do the lion-share of the household tasks, she has less time and energy to dedicate to her own goals. But, if she has a true partner, who is equally involved in the household, then she will gain time. If, for example, there is 40 hours needed a week to adequately parent and keep the household running, and her husband only does 3 hours..this is a zero-sum problem. But, if they each do 20 hours each, then she now has a lot more time.
Now, not everyone wants a big career. Its ok if the woman WANTS to be a stay-at-home mom/work part-time, so her husband can focus more on his career/she enjoys household tasks more. But it should be what she wants and what is best for their families.
Many of my 25-40yo married and working friends are angry and disappointed that after kids are born, their husband's forget to do anything without nagging.

What they should do is take a page from the idiot himself and sue the Senate that they cannot appoint and vote any Supreme Court Judges less than 30 days of a major national elections... and then let the courts proceed and take its own time to decide.
