  • Many of the things we have come to think we need in our life to be happy are really just perpetuating a cycle of addiction that is making us miserable. The Carnivore Diet has helped me (and many others) to overcome these detrimental addictions which has saved not only my health, but it also saves me a lot of money that I can now use on things that build up rather than tear down... such as the meat that has changed everything.

I'll be honest, the way the response started off with all the laughing and the condescending "advice" is probably the biggest thing that drives people away from the carnivore community. I don't disagree with what they said, it's how they said it. We are no better than vegans if we can't have open discussions about these topics without being ridiculed. I really liked your response Dante. Keep up the good work.

I wasn't even trying to stop, I just lost all my cravings and desires to drink because I feel soo amazing on carnivore. It actually has stopped that part of my life. For those that want to know the real answer I can speak from experience as I watch very closely what goes into my body and how it affects it and before I go there I will say that if you are an alcoholic you should definitely abstain. With that being said not all people who drink are alcoholics, I know addiction, I’ve been around it my entire life surrounded by family and friends with substance addictions. If I drink beer I will not lose weight in fact I will go in the opposite direction (even low carb low calorie, it still has sugar) if I drink scotch and water which has no carbs and no sugar I continue to lose weight at the same rate as I do without drinking any alcohol. We must also realize that anything in excess is not good for you especially when it comes to alcohol, there are consequences for everything we do and alcohol is no exception. If we drink too much we pay the price and in this particular case it’s our liver that suffers.
Jesus turned water into wine. Some will say it wasn’t wine but it was grape juice but I find that hard to believe as it was during a wedding feast, John 2:10 everyone brings out the choice wine 1st and then the cheaper wine after everyone has had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.
The Bible also gives examples of what happens if we become drunkards, take Noah for example, he was shamed by Ham and never spoken of again. Lot is another fine example of drinking to excess. Choose wisely my friends.

Please, Allow me to ask a couple of question about the Carnivore diet. (Sorry if i already posted before but i dont know what to do) :
I am now over 200 days into a Strick Carnivore diet (I only eat meat and eggs. Nothing else but 500-600g of COCKED meat plus 7-8 eggs in a day. All Divided in 2 meals) I am now 35 years old, 181cms tall, 180lbs(+-81,5kg) at +-22%BF. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week.(lift weigths to help sustain or increase muscle mass and assist fat loss- HIT Workouts)
I started the Carnivore diet to improve my body composition. I was a HEALHTY guy with NO chronic illnesses or health problems.
I lost about 17 lbs(8kg) in the first 9 weeks (Mostly water) but since then I haven't been able to change my body composition. I have now gone more than 8 weeks without registering any body changes (weight loss, decrease in BF% or measurements like waist, legs, arms and neck ).In fact i have gained 2,5 lbs(1KG between weeks 10-12, but it might be just water.
I still need to lose at least another 15lbs of fat to reach my goal of being below 15%BF. However, I don't see how the Carnivora Diet will facilitate this process. I have not experienced most of the benefits common to Carnivores (Improved sleep, more energy/disposition, etc.) nor have I changed my body composition significantly
I am now over 12 weeks with no body fat lost.
So I would like to ask a few question about the Carnivore diet:
1- How long should I extend my experience with the Carnivore diet to be able to lose the excess bodyfat I still have?(at least 15lbs of fat)
2- What is the minimum time you should maintain a Carnivora diet when it is not working for you?(how many weeks or months)
3-Is the Carnivore diet effective for those who are aldreay healthy and just need to improve body composition?
I am affraid this way of eating is too restrictive, for a healthy person, with no aditional benefit from any other whole food diet.
PS: Most of my time as a Carnivore i have not experience most Carnivore benefits or lost any body fat.
Also, Sorry for any grammar mistake, i am Brazilian and english is not my first language.
    Thank you for your attention!

Don't let perfection be the enemy of good. It is a reasonable question. We should say alcohol is not a good thing to drink. It is indeed a poison. But having a single drink every few weeks is not going to do significant harm.
We can acknowledge that it is ideal to abstain, don't drink alcohol. Simple answer. But if you find yourself in a position where you don't feel that you can avoid it entirely, a glass of white wine or a shot of whiskey without any mixers or sweeteners. A whiskey sour for example, hold the syrup, hold the fruit.
That would be my response. State clearly that drinking is not ideal, that it is a poison but we also have to acknowledge that it is a dose-dependent poison. One drink every now and then if everything else in your diet is correct should not cause harm.
We have to meet people where they are. If everyone sits and sanctimoniously states that drinking is bad and you should not ever do it, we lose people. We're going to lose people that way rather than acknowledge that yes, it is a poison. Ideally you would not have it, but if you're not there yet, here are the less damaging options and again repeat that it's best to not have any.

I didn't like Dr Baker's response either, Dr Chaffee dealt with it well.

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix Před měsícem +2

@@charlielanga4213 I mean I don't disagree with Dr Baker. He's right on the merits. But I recognize that it is important to meet people where they are and to not let perfection be the enemy of good. Ideally we don't drink alcohol ever. Realistically, I have a single drink maybe once a month. When I have it I enjoy it and I recognize that it's not great for me. I don't plan on continuing to drink even infrequently because I recognize that it isn't good for me. That doesn't mean I'll never have a single drink ever again but my plan is to stop.
I still have a single coffee each day. I hope in a couple of months I'll be able to stop drinking coffee but for now it is a thing I enjoy. I am not eating the standard American diet, no sugar or flour or anything processed. That is already so far ahead of the game. Getting rid of that one cup of coffee a day and the very rare drink is next on the list.
It's important that we in this community recognize that each of us is a work in progress. We have to try to be patient and accept that people will vary. I want to get rid of the one coffee each day and the very occasional drink. But I don't want to be scolded for still having that one coffee. We shouldn't police each other, we should help each other instead.
I agree that Dr Chaffee handled the question better. He acknowledged that he used to drink and enjoyed it and explained how he stopped and why, how it flowed naturally for him. That is useful and helpful.
