BTS predicated this MV with the beginning of their storyline and 7 WINGS short films so ARMYs definitely expected this MV to answer some questions about the storyline so that’s why you guys were blindsided by the cut scene 😂😂
But the statue was a fallen angel bc this era of the storyline depicted BTS trading in their innocence by giving into temptation and chaos: going from an angel to a fallen angel (and it’s displayed various ways throughout the MV, you just have to look for it)
The blood sweat & tears era is my favorite era for BTS tbh

about the 😘 in the statue, well the statue represents the dark and chaotic side of the youngster's growth, the entire clip speaks of this chaos and temptations ... Jin, who represents the order and innocence of youth, as well as Jimin, who is blindfolded to avoid seeing the evil and lies of the world, confront this chaos and accept it... Hence the kiss. And V is the fallen angel, temptation, chaos.

YES!! Blood Sweat & Tears is one of the best songs of BTS, this era was legendary. For me, WINGS is one of the best albums of BTS.

Usually all BTS connected storyline music videos have BU Certified by BigHit in their description, but the past few MV’s haven’t been labeled that. But of course the “theorist” ARMY believe it is all connected somehow. This music video was inspired by the book Demian: Hermann Hesse. Many of the scenes and even the passage that RM read out is from the book.
Oh gosh, this song, i played this 10 times a day for a month when it came out without getting sick of it. Definitely one of my favourite bangtan songs ever,, 2016 was such a good year for music, esp bangtan music 😆😆

it's lovely how you have that interpretation about the wings and it's not exactly the inspiration of this mv but still end up with the main concept of it. as quoted in this mv, "one must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star." it's still about breaking free to achieve self-actualization. 💜

The narration was from the book Demian, they did 7 short films with each solo of the album Wings (they're cool af) and also had some parts of they book.
The intro of jhope : Boy Meets Evil was released before this song, also related to Demian
This MV is based on Demian novel. You can watch Blood Sweat and Tears Explained video to better understand this video. It is also tied to the BTS storyline.
I really love it when reactors giving there thoughts or theories on what the mv is all about or what the BTS mv is portraying. Cause honestly when I started to know them I start to use my brain more now analyzing their mv more than I used my brain when I'm still studying. That's one of the reasons why I like them cause they always make me think and use my brain more hahaha. I use my brain more at BTS MV more than I use my brain in the office.

Their albums went from discussing being students and critizing the school system in korea, their struggles as a teens and critizing the society. With Wings, they discussed about fall and temptations experienced by youth and their personal stories as their mature into adulthood. (Their intro for Wings album is Boy Meets Evil btw)
This MV has plentyyyyy of symbolisms: the painting in the beginning is The Fall of the Rebel Angels, the painting behind Jungkook while hanging in the swing is The Lament of Icarus (Icarus’ father told him not to fly too close to sun but he didnt listen and he ended up destroying his wings and falling into the ocean), the painting when V jumped off the balcony is the Fall of Icarus, the Last Supper when they were sitting at the table, Michaelangelo’s Pieta (Virgin Mary carrying Jesus Christ after crucifixion), the apple that Jin was holding symbolizes sin from Adam and Eve story, and then Jin giving into the temptation as he kiss the angel without knowing its the devil.
You guys should check it out the dance practice for this song! It’s definitely my favorite of all times
Rewatching this is my first time realizing that at the beginning as the camera pans and the "dark" statue is suddenly closer to jin. Also multiple images around 2 choices. Like two door ways.

I missed wings era but I actually miss BTS.
I liked the interpretation of both. Since the hints on this video are very vague, you can add as much theory and extra meaning as you like. Since almost everything in BTS is about emotion!
If you like you can put the meaning to the music, for the video, for the dance whatever you want because everything is done to involve us in this and enrich the work as a whole.
Fun fact: Namjoon (RM) the lider of BTS and Jackson are really close friends, in general Got7 and BTS are best friends 😊❤️

The nicknames are endless but you get the idea hahah. Especially for RM and V their nicknames are just used as standard by fans. We'd call them Joon and Tae. Even more drastic is for Jungkook and jhope where even the members almost dont use their real or stage names as standard, they're just adressed as JK and Hobi/Hoba.
For SUGA his nicknames are actually very funny, army uses the most random nicknames such as yoongles, boogi, yongli, yooni, bongles.

The Archery things is on Idol Star Olympics it's a initially all the kpop idols are playing. Jk, jimin and suga played the Archery for the BTS group but they have respective groups i think A,B,C and D all is mixed with other idols.
It's a fallen angel. Demian the book the quote was extracted talks about the good and bad values. Its the story of a boy that leaves the good value and comfort of his house to discover the outside world. Full of temptations.
The painting jin was looking at the beginning it's the war among angels and demons.
The painting when taehyung jumps is about Icarus. The guy in greek mythology that disobeyed his dad when scaping prison and got too close to the sun, burning his wings.
