It couldn't have been more than four years ago, it came out in Jan 2014. It was always popular, I used to read the manga before the anime even came out and it was already popular then, so it's natural the anime was also popular. Sukebei Moe lol i know. I watched when it came out and so that was it lmao I’m not exactly good at specific dates. I just know that it wasnt as popular then as it is now. Because maybe your school whether highschool or middleschool doesn't have the money to support a Japanese class? I don't expect a middleschool to have a lot if any but two years of a foreign language are required to graduate so i am assuming they only have one language,probably spanish, like my highschool does.
because the languages you are taught primarily depends on availability of teachers but more importantly how useful a language would be. Japanese isn't spoken much outside of japa whereas spanish, french, english and a few others are spoken in a lot more areas of the world.
As someone who loves Japanese mythology, this was an amazing anime. It made me love kami so much more and understand that deep down they are no different from humans, and that's what sets them apart from western mythology. Even beyond this anime they are like that in the legends. It's a shame it never got a season 3, it was the first anime...no the first and only piece of fictional media that actually portrayed the kami in their actual religion. I would've loved to see amaterasu, Susanoo, and Ryujin. Oh and I wonder what Izanagi and Tsukuyomi are up to!
I remember ho awesome this one when I first heard this. I was watching the first episode to make sure it was a good anime and whwn this opening played, I knew it was gonna be an amazing anime
Mostly because a lot of American musicians (I'm using that term lightly) have their music judged by their own appearance instead of how they actually play.
Kitty Kat give it time :) I still feel like the manga is barely just starting. If anything they'll save it till the end. I mean look at Fairy Tail, Manga is far as hell and Nalu still hasn't even happened yet.

It couldn't have been more than four years ago, it came out in Jan 2014. It was always popular, I used to read the manga before the anime even came out and it was already popular then, so it's natural the anime was also popular. Sukebei Moe lol i know. I watched when it came out and so that was it lmao I’m not exactly good at specific dates. I just know that it wasnt as popular then as it is now. A lot more people love and appreciate it and that’s super awesome. I never read the manga before the anime but around the time I first watched it. So it wasn’t a manga/show unknown to me lol

Because maybe your school whether highschool or middleschool doesn't have the money to support a Japanese class? I don't expect a middleschool to have a lot if any but two years of a foreign language are required to graduate so i am assuming they only have one language,probably spanish, like my highschool does.
because the languages you are taught primarily depends on availability of teachers but more importantly how useful a language would be. Japanese isn't spoken much outside of japa whereas spanish, french, english and a few others are spoken in a lot more areas of the world.

Hoping for second season
As someone who loves Japanese mythology, this was an amazing anime. It made me love kami so much more and understand that deep down they are no different from humans, and that's what sets them apart from western mythology. Even beyond this anime they are like that in the legends. It's a shame it never got a season 3, it was the first anime...no the first and only piece of fictional media that actually portrayed the kami in their actual religion. I would've loved to see amaterasu, Susanoo, and Ryujin. Oh and I wonder what Izanagi and Tsukuyomi are up to!
