  • Made this video because the normal copper rivet removal tool on the blademaster rivet press can’t pop out rivets on brand new factory pressed skates. I’ve done this a ton of times and wanted to document it. On this take, I sliced too deep passed the rivet AND couldn’t even extract the pin at the final step… So of course, I decided to upload it to CZcams for some laughs.

Dude you dremel’d the holder. That’s not good especially if your doing this for commercial purposes!

What a rookie. My frames are an irreplaceable top end inline chassis. I would be so pissed.

They are my skates. I'm aware that I did cut into the holder. I mean, I voiced my concern about it immediately after the fact.

Wrong. You dremel the end of the rivet sitting above the washer, flat. Then with a hammer & 8 inch 'spike chisel' you simply tap the rivet until it falls into the boot. You never dremel anywhere near the inline frame or the Tuuk ice holder. What a rookie.

Thanks for the advice. I only had a Dremel cutting tool. Just working with what I had. Completely self taught and there's no information on how to do this on CZcams. If you could find the time to upload a better one, be my guest! Would love to see a master at work.

This is the route I went as well. Drill a flat into the rounded dome so I could place a nail punch and pop the rivet from the washer with no damage to the holder (though I did cover with some tape in case I slipped).
