I love Ash's Heracross, its always performed so well, while I dont want to take away from Sceptile's W against Darkrai (because if it weren't for sceptile waking up it would've been over), the way I saw it that megahorn it used on Darkrai was the sole reason it went down to that leafblade

fun fact Heracross's most prominent competitive battling quirk is his Guts ability which coincides with Heracross remarkably learning Sleep Talk a move that takes advantage of the Guts ability, and is part of a common Heracross move-set.

Ok. Let us see: heracross used a sleep induced megahorn which he has STAB from it, his ability guts makes it even stronger if he is affected by sleep/paralysis/burn. Aaaaaand darkrai is a dark type so it's weak to bug types. Heracross at this point should have exploded darkrai completely!!!! But darkrai resisted so: *another proof that Tobias uses Action replay*

When l saw this scene the 1st time l was like no way in hell darkrai survived this like wtf!!! Even if hercross was lvl 50 and darkrai was lvl 100 he will fall dead not fainted from this exact mega horn !!
like go to Pokémon showdown and test it ! heracross should obliterate darkrai like literally
@@BANDEV89 yeah right?! And the "Pokemon anime isn't following the rules of the games" doesn't apply here. I know it was meant to represent what real life would be with pokemon, but it would still need to obey the rules of the pokemon world, abilities, weaknesses etc. And heracross not beating darkrai was bullpoop. I mean, heracross endured against a magmar, why would he lose this time?
@@farofa2843 It was the first fight too, so it's not like Heracross was tired already. Honestly, I agree with a lot of people who say Tobias was only given the pokemon he had because the company didn't want to give As a win since 'then the story would be over'. As if winning one league makes you a pokemon master. You got to at least see EVERY pokemon out there to be one, so as long as new game are made Ash will never truly reach that goal.

crazy that in sinnoh it used sleep talk that was a competitive OU moveset during that gen in-game, only because of the ability guts, I think we can safely assume Ash's Heracross is a Guts Heracross, unless they said it had swarm at some point

Very under used in my opinion
I would like to see it more, but compared to the other reserves, it did pretty solidly. Great exposure at the Johto League, Sinnoh League, & Battle Frontier

I think that Ash’s Heracross was good and was his best Bug Type.
I think it's his strongest but I'll always root for Butterfree 😃
I love that ash used mega horn and focus punch; both very popular moves for heracross and also was smart enough to pre teach his pokemon sleep talk after learning of kricketune can sing.
My all time favorite pokemon. I'm glad this video exists.

Don't forget human sized bugs that casuallys snap trees in half and lifts over 5 tons of weight without breaking a sweat.
Ever since I saw this I wanted a heracross so badly, so I was overjoyed when I got one from a mysterious egg someone traded me in Pokémon shield

As a undergrad student focusing on AI and Machine learning, all I can say is this.
I’m disappointed in Shingo for “leaving” his way of using predictions and calculations for maximising Scizors combat abilities. He only lost to Ash! There is still room for improvement. This is not an accurate way to portrait an engineer. 😂

hmm. seems heracross was caught before the battle against whitney, would have been a good chance for ash to use him. or against chuck since that was a sumo type battle. Or maybe jasmine/pryce. heracross could have fought in a lot of gym battles
Heracross' horn would have been a perfect way to stop Rollout
I agree before Ash decided to let Heracross stay at professor oak lab it should've been use in a couple of gym battles it would've been smart if Ash had use it against Bugsy since it was a bug type gym and against Whitney.

Heracross deadass took a body slam fireblast combination and a flamethrower to the face and took it out not to mention it's also mastered sleeptalk strategy and managed to land a good hit on Tobias Darkrai Ash downplayed this mon BIG TIME

Heracross landed a mean Megahorn and tied with Darkrai's Ice Beam. He is him.
Fun Facts about Heracross. Only two of its moves aren’t normal types. Funnily enough, the two moves that aren’t (Megahorn and Focus Punch) have the highest power out of all bug and fighting type moves

I wonder why Heracross havent learned Brick Break. The only fighting type it learned was Focus Punch.

Ash’s Heracross was kinda the powerhouse of Ash’s Jotho cause heck it beat a fire type like Gary’s Magmar despite being at a disadvantage. And when Ash used it again at the Sinnoh league, it used the move sleep talk(it allows the user to use a random move while asleep) after it was put to sleep by Nando’s krickitune and Tobias’ Darkai. It wasn’t able to beat Darkai despite having the advantage, it got taken out by dream eater in a snap. It’s moveset was horn attack, sleep talk, megahorn and focus punch.
The battle with Magmar is my favorite part of the battle with Gary :)

Across the Video Games, Card Game, and the anime I have many different favorite Pokémon. Ash’s Heracross is one of my favorites due to his appearances in the anime ❤️. Trying to watch a abridged version of the entire series as i haven’t really watched since Harrison beat Ash when I was a kid.

I love heracross because it’s fondness for food is not unlike my own. Fun fact about myself. When I was a child, I used pretend my favorite meal Maceroni and cheese was honey while watching Winnie the Pooh, (without using my hands of course). Influenced by that memory, I enjoy eating Maceroni and cheese while watching episodes where heracross eats sap, especially its debut episode or other honey themed Pokémon episodes. Maceroni and cheese tastes so much better when you mix a little nostalgia with it!
And, maybe some honey too?? ha

It would be cool to see Heracross have the ability to mega evolve in Journeys since Ash does have a key stone. Also, it would be cool to see Ash's Pokemon to move from Oak's lab to Cerise park where Goh's Pokemon are sent, where we see Ash and Goh's Boldores just napping side by side, Ash's Heracross training Goh's and if Goh catches a bunch of Tympole by accident, it would be funny to see Palpitoad bossing them around.

Heracross was a real trooper until the end. It started out just like goomy a little in the halfway but made up by training with professor oak until ash made it to the johto league and then it won through the battle frontier even though it lost. And got to win it’s first match in the sinnoh league so I think heracross is one of ash’s best jhoto Pokémon and one of ash’s best bug types as well

Heracross was certainly strong, perhaps more than the others in its former group, but did lack some focus. Given how heracross got distracted by tree sap and spilled honey but still has a fairly good battle record.
I've always loved its debut episode. Super fun & great use of Bulbasaur
