  • backtoedenfilm.com/ It is not too often that you see a serious prepper say that something they saw completely changed the way they are doing something so, when I heard LDSPrepper say that I sat up in my chair and took notice. After finishing his video I was sure that this method would work well in Texas but, there is no way that it could work where I live in Washington. Still, I followed the link to the Back To Eden movie and watched in amazement. I didn't notice it at first but, they kept saying Sequim Washington. That's only an hour from where I live. I called Paul up and a couple of days later I was standing in his farm. Paul was very inviting. He let us go anywhere, eat anything, video our visit and before we left he gave us some seeds. He told us to come back whenever we wanted and to call him with any questions we had. He loves to share his knowledge. Here is part of that visit.

    Paul would say immediately it will start to help. Just having the cover on the ground will help regulate the temp and water. It must rain or be watered before the compost tea action can happen. For most, if you put it down in the fall, in the spring you should be ready. With no compost added, it may be a year before you really see the improvement in your veggies but, you will notice that you do not have to water as often if at all and the weeds will be easier to pull as the ground will loosen

    Paul is so wise, he definitely has the spirit and wisdom of God guiding him, this method of Gardening has been revealed right on time at these end times, soon things will hit the fan and those who prepare and plant food will be able to survive to the end. keep your eyes on Israel and the rebuilding of the third Temple, once the temple is rebuilt and the man of sin will put an end to the sacrifices we will know Christ's return is only 3.5 years away. Daniel 9:27 & Matt 24
    Thank you for sharing!

    I live in the San Joaquin Valley.
    When I was in high school I did a project and went to farms and took soil samples.
    I remember one farm that had almost 6 inches of salt buildup on the top of the soil.
    I never could get that image out of my head knowing that I'm eating food out of the farm like this.
    And since then I have grown my garden naturally as I could, using wood chips of course long ago.

    In the desert, you want as much moisture as possible, so I suggest creating
    "pits" (recessed areas) in the ground, mulching the area with whatever organic matter you can find, digging holes and planting.
    If possible, plant some palms, dates, or other heat resistant plants, around your garden areas to filter the intense sun during the day.

    All I could afford when I started this channel was a Flip camera. The microphone is in the back. This is why you cannot really hear Paul and why everyone behind or beside the camera is loud. I had the choice of not posting any videos of Paul or posting bad sound of Paul. I saved up for a year to buy a shinny new camera so that you all can hear Paul better. All of the recent videos have better sound. Thank you for taking the time to read the other comments.

    Put a layer of compost or cooked manure on top of your woodchips then water it in. When you plant, you are going to pull back the woodchips, poke a hole in your newspaper and plant in the hole. Once the plant has grown above the woodchips, push the woodchips back in place.

    The permaculture videos with Jeff Lawton ,who grew plants in the Negev Desert [near the Dead Sea] found that the endophytic fungi that grew in the SWALES sequestered the salts and balanced the uptake of the right salts for their plants and the fruits & plants grew plentiful.

    I will ask Paul on my next visit which will be in September more than likely. If I had to guess at a Paul answer to this I would think he would say, "If you want to". I would think that the radish and beats would just push anything out of their way. The lettuce may get crowed. Paul has taken seeds and just thrown them on the ground with no issues in spacing. I have seen some very close planting in square inch gardens. Right now you don't have a problem, I would wait until you do.

    The indirect sunlight you are receiving will allow you to grow greens and root crops quite well. Kale, Spinach, Lettuce, Celery, Parsley, Cilantro, Collards, Onions, Mustard Greens, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Celery, Carrots, Beets, Radishes . . . . all can be grown. :)

    Thanks so much .......... This place gets less than five inches of rain per year. I know I will have to water and have been thinking of a drip system under the mulch; but after hearing that the "rain washes the nutrients down into the soil" I am trying to figure out how create the more natural environment. Good luck to you :)

    One tip on making future videos. Have people stand as far away from the camera mic as Paul was in this video so the audio is balanced. I could barely hear Paul without cranking up the volume, but when one of the women laughed, it about blew my eardrums out. The commercials were also very loud.

    These videos are awesome info!!!! I have a question, We have a large piece of ground that has been TILLED every year & used as a vegetable garden. Can we just put mulch & wood chips on top of that and plant our seeds WITHOUT first laying down any newspaper?

    Question Paul: when we go to the city to get free yard waste, what happens with the grass clippings from lawns sprayed with chemicals, do we need to worry...?

    • @L2Survive
      @L2Survive  Před 9 lety

      Rory Dabney It depends. For the most part no. The reason is that you are getting clippings from many yards. Even if one yard put nothing but, roundup on their grass, it will be mixed in with other people clippings. If you are still worried, compost it for a while and add some kitchen waste or fish blood.

    Can this be done in raised beds? I built some last year and would hate to pull them up and waste them and the money i spent building them. Also i noticed recently that they would have to be filled back up a half a foot to reach the top again, but the original soil was manure with woody leaf humus. They did good last year but i want then to do "Back to Eden" good.

    • @L2Survive
      @L2Survive  Před 10 lety

      This can be done in raised beds or even potted plants but, since your dirt is higher than the ground level, your results will be less than if you planted in the ground.

      Ivana Plavsic I asked Paul your question so, it should be coming up in the next few pruning videos. Basically Paul does not like to use it in his garden. He just throws it into the woods. There are people who even use human waste for gardening but, Paul gets all he needs from his chickens.
