Wow, what an amazing tour of the Kato Hobby Center in Tokyo! 🚄🇯🇵 It looks like a paradise for model train enthusiasts with such a wide range of scales, layouts, and especially those incredible Shinkansen bullet trains. The variety of N scale and HO scale options must be quite a sight to see in person.
I'm curious, which part of the store impressed you the most? Did you find any particular train set or accessory that you would recommend? Also, how do the Unitrack systems compare in terms of ease of use and flexibility for new setups?
Thank you for taking us along on this fantastic journey through one of the premier model train stores in the world. It’s definitely on my must-visit list now! 🚂🌍

Cool! I live in Yokohama and haven't been to the Kato store yet! My wife and I went to the Omiya Train Museum last week. Incredible. BTW, I wonder if you went to the Hara ( Model Train) Museum in Yokohama. Extremely interesting!!! Mr. Hara (RIP) had been collecting trains from all around the world even before WW II. As a kid, he started making locomotives from tin cans! Thanks for the high quality shots of the Kato Store. Lastly, another train besides Shinkansen that uses the larger gauge track is KeiKyu ( pronounced " K-Q").

That Kato store makes me jealous on so many levels, and it pulls me towards N scale but realistically I know there's no way my old man eyes will allow me to enjoy it as much, but I've falling in love with how efficient those Kato books are at storing trains. From what I recall you can run your trains if you spend as little as 500yen in their store. That said you were there for 10 days, hopefully you managed to sneak off to the Akihabara district, there definitely are a lot of train stores you can hit up (and yeah even HO scale)
