- Was not expecting this tutorial to be coming out this late and after the news of Jason David Frank passing. For Halloween this year I made my own white ranger shield and armor from mighty morphin power rangers. As always when i make something i love to teach how to make it. Making the white ranger armor has even more meaning to it now and so happy to have this shield in my collection.

I was born in 96, so I was about turbo and in space. I had the original mmpr movie and turbo movie on vhs and then in space toys. So, for me, Jason was the white mmpr and the red turbo ranger. I used to pretend to fight, and i would always do his noises. I told everyone growing up that i would be a ranger (specifically the purple ranger). I watched Amy jo talk about Jason on insta, and I didn't realize how much it would affect me. I just cried. one of my childhood heroes was gone, and I never got to meet him. Love you, Jason. I will show my future children you and how badass you were. RIP the legend, the myth, the hero.

I do agree with you, foam is the way to go for the shield. I'm about to start a white ranger helmet myself. I'm a fan of green ranger/white ranger, and I also loved zeo red a lot. Great stuff man!

My favorite power rangers are the mighty morphin. And my favorite Jason David Frank power ranger is the white tiger ranger. I have a tattoo of the red MMPR because red’s my favorite color and Jason’s the first leader of the power rangers. Imma get a white tiger ranger tattoo also in memory of Jason David Frank. Awesome work man and I feel you on how rough it was to work on this knowing JDF is no longer with us. I wouldn't think the 3D print this as I am a more of a foam guy, but this looks really good and I like the execution.
Yeah like I mentioned at the end definitely would recommend foam as well. This looks gorgeous but time and flexibility are features foam completely wins.
I've been reading the MMP and Go Go Power Rangers comics. Can't recommend enough for fans of the original five. And there's a character, Lord Drakkon, whose an alternate universe Tommy Oliver that is a mash up of the Green/White Ranger. His helmet and armor are sick!

what supplies are you looking for? most stuff i would just grab from walmart or your hardware store like the sand paper and spray paint

I agree, 3d printing looks great but Eva foam would be ideal. Simply for movement sake. Great video. 👍
100% movement and even just getting the armor on foam would be SOO much better might be cool to do the armor in foam but the chest emblem 3d printed to keep it high detal

The whole armor set was do3d but would be a hefty price for just the buckle.

Everything came out great! If you don't mind where did you buy/get your shield file? I made one foam but am not satisfied with the results. I'm thinking 3D printing one might be my best way to go.

What did you put all the parts in at 6 minutes, something to help with the fumes of the paint or something else. Got me interested
its started to get cold so i bout a 5ft x 5ft grow tent to start sanding and painting in my garage to contain the mess. I ended up buying two one for sanding and one for painting

Have you thought about trying to use the flexible filament to do Dragon Shield armor? I wonder if that would work???
It would definitely be easier to wear but I'm not sure how well flexible filament will sand, and gold will show every layer line if you don't sand it well
@@SaturdayMorningProps I did the Loki mask from The Mask movie with the flexible filament. It was a pain to sand for sure, but it was doable. I might get it a try and see.
@@MajinFox89 Loki has wood grain so layer lines hide well in it, I feel like the gold would show the layer lines bad if it wasn't really smooth

When were new ones released? Overall I'm pretty tired of do3d their customer service is miserable and they promise over and over and never deliver

@@holidaystyles44 doesn't show up in there updates forum on their page. They said white and pink in June but still hasn't changed the white file I got with this armor was the same crap file

Trying looking in between the couches, or washing machine. But on a serious Note the sentai version of the white ranger which was from a completely different team, they didn't have the same Morpher.
