Another great segment Steve! I love that you put this one out on the 1 yr. anniversary of the night I started Steam Dream. You are a great inspiration to many. Keep it going!!!

I remember when I built my virtual machine. It was like 10 minutes of install followed by 4 hours of wiring. Then rinse and repeat. Ugh! Fun when it works though!

Heheh yep, I can already feel my OCD kicking in wanting a clean wire harness vs the rats nest it’s becoming and sooo much more wire still to come 😅

Hi good tips for everyone as usually 👍🏻👍🏻
Just a thing, you should not wire the coin door buttons, tilt … to a board that is mounted on (under) the playfield because you won’t be able to take the PF off anymore 😉
You would better use another little expansion board dedicated to those functionalities
Thanks for you video serie 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you for another video. My long lived wish to built my own pinball machine is getting so much closer because of your detailed instructions. I am learning so much from you. Thank you very much for that. I did buy a broken old pinball machine some years ago to be the donor but it is the old style cabinet. However building the wood part of the cabinet is not that big of deal and I can still use the other parts from the donor machine I guess. My question on which I cannot really find the answer is about the old (like my 1973 Big Valley) and newer styled cabinets. The newer cabinets have a more angled play field which makes the ball come down faster. Also the cabinet itself has a even more steep angle. I guess this was done to get more room and be able to create double stacked play fields at the back. However can you tell a little about these changes and maybe quickly tell about your (and otherwise used) angles and measurements and more. Thank you so much.

Of course! I’ll add it to my list of videos - I might not be able to get to it for a little while since I’m trying hard to get my machine ready for a pinball show in June, but I’ll try to work it in before too long.

great videos, i do not see the link to the terminal crimpers you are using in your google doc or in this description.
All the ones i see on amazon are not the exact model with all the identical specs listed in your screenshot in the video.
i could not find any that listed the JST ZH 1.5mm. could you please post the direct link to the crimpers your using.
i crimp JST and many Molex terminals and am interested to try out other brand crimpers.

So the traditional stapling of a ground wire under the playfield soldered to everything is not necessary anymore?

What mosfets are they using on those boards?
