When my daughter was a toddler, she started getting styes. As she grew, the styes happened more often and lasted much longer (sometimes weeks or over a month) despite compresses. They also were so large that they needed to be expressed(which was awful...I wonder what my neighbor thought I was doing to my poor little girl). She actually has a scare on one eye lid from such a large stye. By 4th grade she stopped getting the styes, but her right eye ball would flare up red and bumpy and last for weeks. FYI, it is only her right eye. Our pediatrician finally sent us to a pediatric Opthomologist who we saw 3 times. He gave us prednisone drops and warned us to only use them for 2 wks because it can cause glaucoma. After that we can do compresses for 5min 1-2x daily. There's is nothing else we can do. He said there is no cure, no one knows the root of the condition or what can trigger it. My daughter is 12 now and still suffers and gets teased at school. She's a busy, active 12 yr old, we do our best to do compresses. Sometimes it seems to work. Other times, not so much. I deeply regret not taking this into my own hands sooner. I could have saved my daughter from a lot of discomfort & teasing! I just found you & watched 4 of your videos. We were told to use a warm cloth on her eye for 5min. Now I know better!!!! Now I know how to cleanse her eye lid! We never heard of such a thing! I ordered her a proper compress (and now we know that 5min is not enough), optase cleanser + wipes, and a fish oil supplement!!! You are a gem. Thank you😭🙏!!! 💝

Thanks for your efficient and complete video. I've had two recent terrible bouts with eye allergy (food-based) and infection. Pollen affected me for the first time this year. I didn't hear you discuss natural treatment of cucumber. When I have an infection, the cucumber slices (sans skins) pull out the fluid. When there is no infection, they don't do a thing for me. Also, after cleaning my eyes, I will use a medical grade vaseline or natural oil (olive, grapeseed, etc.) for moisturizing so that I'm not rubbing my eyes for dryness. My opthalmologist did recommend Avenova wipes and sprays, which I have not gotten yet. I prefer things as natural as possible. (How about local honey, as an eye tech recommended -- consumed internally.)

@@zachmcbride5926 hi Zach! There are various hypochlorous acid sprays available on the market but the one I got was about $10 cheaper than the first one I was looking at. Got it off Amazon. The one I bought is Heyedrate Lid & Lash Cleanser... It's a spray with only two ingredients, hypochloric acid and saline solution. While I was there I also bought the Heyedrate Tea Tree Face Wash.
Started using the lid and lash cleaner spray several times a day at first, along with Theratears preservative free eye drops to keep my eye surface hydrated. These eye drops are not like Visine, they are developed with your eyes physiology in mind to soothe and hydrate.
I spray the lid and eyelash cleaner directly on my CLOSED eye, rub it gently with a clean finger. CAUTION: If you put lotion or sunscreen on before you spray, you will experience stinging in your eye. So clean face, use the spray on your closed eye, gently rub lashes with clean finger, put in preservative free saline eye drops, then put on any lotion you need after your eyes have dried. That way the lotion won't run into your eyes. Good luck and best to you! 🌱

Switch out your eye make up regularly and be very sanitary with your eyes and use high quality products. If I catch it early enough sometimes this helps; I fill up a thermos with hot steamy water halfway and put my eye around the opening. Be careful not to burn yourself but do it consistently every couple of hours along with cleaning your eyelid with a boric acid + water (I use saline). I hope this helps you as much as it helps me!
