I don't really blame them, she did nothing but play with candy, say thats plant, and then knock it over. She was so withdrawn. Poppy may be a character but it is an interview, meaning she has to talk and answer questions. I don't dislike her, wnd they could of done some research as well, but she was being difficult as well.
But the whole point of Poppy's persona is that she's this no personality pop star robot. She's done plenty of fun interviews where the hosts laugh WITH her character and not AT her. I feel like he straight up wasn't playing along with her joke. There are lots of questions that the hosts could have asked her that would've allowed her to give funny in-character answers but instead they just made her look stupid. Like why did he knock over her candy tower that wasn't even funny lol he just wanted to get a rise out of her and then acted shook when he did smh kk sorry rant over I just hate this new TRL lmaoo

Or, the people involved on this show have no clue that poppy is not an actual person, she's literally a fictional character 24/7 while peforming and being in public (that's why she's playing with candy, or talking to a freaking plant, she's a fictional character) so it's pretty disrespectful to try and make her break character by yelling, being obnoxious and generally just rude by saying things like "can you speak for her?" when they are the ones inviting her to this """interview"""
jesus christ, relax. first of all, she's a performance artist, so the whole thing about her being a character is legit, you can look up other interviews and you will find the same thing, no real (sane) person is going to have videos talking to a mannequin, or a plant, don't you think? secondly, they sure "played along" during the sketch they showed during this, so they were VERY aware of how the whole Poppy character works, not like a usual artist. And third, although i might not be a fan of her music, or work in general, i do understand it enough, and i think it's pretty okay for others (who get the idea behind it, or at least grasp it), definitely way better than most the people shown on shows like these nowadays. you clearly seem hold some sort of resentment against the artist, so, enjoy being mad for whatever reason i suppose
