The problem with me is I memorize everything but during exams I lose my confidence.. Still I write all the answers but teachers don't give me marks.. They want us to write same answers written in your textbook.. Just one word skipped, they don't give marks in home boards.. And guess what, 2 Days later pre boards are starting.. I am freaking scared right now!!
Donât be scared! Be confident and prepare for the best and believe in yourself Allah almighty is always your helper inshallah
See in actual board exams you can write answers in your own words ...like it should make sense though .....but for now you have to memorise...even I do but make sure you understand clearly and deeply ...you can use active recall ( all the best )

Good tips. I used this idea when I learned also and taught my students. When you form your own questions and give correct answer about a subject is when you know you really understand it. You explained this well. Yes. Page number is so important next to the re-written notes. Great job young lady!!đŠđđ»

Just write the question on new paper? Or need to write answer beside that question?
@@wongshermiko7055 have the answer highlighted or underlined in your textbook. Just write the questions on the paper. Once you answer each question, go over your textbook to the parts where you highlighted or underlined to check. This is why she said it's important to write the textbook page number beside the question. This makes it easier to go back and check your answer.

Im really happy that i found this channel, its like I've found a treasure chest in the big cave that is youtube.
My ways to study is : I need to really really concentrate on what the teacher is saying . And I need to take down noted base on my memories . If I can't remember , I would ask my teacher about it again and refresh my memory . During exams , my notes would appear in my mind and letting me take it down or the teacher's voice is in my ear. It helps me , idk why .
Maybe its a face-to-face concept?
@@nursyafiqah6905 Yes, it is. That's why I'm now suffering lack of concentration in lockdown.

Wonderful tip! I started using this in university last year when I wanted to simulate the type of revision I would do during A Levels with past papers.
I would like to add: The more application based questions you make, the greater the concept will stick although that usually takes much more time so in most courses I stick with the basic who what why framework.
I rlly hope we will be given the normal textbooks instead "e-textbooks"
Not a fan of them đ©
Update : YEAAAAAASSSSS WE'RE GETTING THE NORMAL TEXTBOOKS THANK GOD

@SARVANI VASANTHAN Moe my university gives me Ipad from the beginning so yes, I assure it's a real nerve you guys. It's fine if we study at uni and can take advice directly from teachers. However, now my country start locking down again and I'm in panic, because I've never been good at studying online (ever). Not having textbooks so I have to rewrite everything, then my assignments are overload. I'm so stressful now đ
This is a way I take notes, which I think help me a lot (I. figured this out after watching some of your videos!)
1. I write the title of the chapter of my textbook, then I write the date in my notebook.
2. I draw a column on the far left of the page (I only do this for history)
3. Then I get out a fresh piece of paper and write questions at the top.
4. then I read the chapter of my textbook, and during reading I write questions on my question page, then highlight the answers in my textbook!
5. Once I finish reading the chapter, I shut my text book and write down the answers to my questions in my notebook!
6. then I glue in my questions at the bottom of the page (folded up).
7. Finally I begin looking back at the questions and answer them, checking my answers (notes)!!!
Thank you soooo much Faye!!! I love you videos! And I do admit that I watch your videos when I procrastinate(but not all the time!)!!!! Happy Studying!!! :D

I literally just read the whole book and highlight important details and read it again so I can memorize the goddamn stuff there
(And I even forget)
Uhh you do realize that youâre skimming through your book right? Or maybe thats how everyone does it,
What I do is memorize sentence then sentence (or two sentences depends on how short each sentence is) and I start reading it again and again for 10-25 times or until I can confidently say the whole thing. And when your done just say all the sentences together then after that I write the whole thing down on a piece of paper I usually get a used notebook that still has 50 white pages left or something like that. l do skip the last step sometimes because I get lazy.đ
Hope I didnât offend your way of memorizing you donât have to use my way of course if you donât want to.
@@sazkawa9336 I didn't say I wasn't skimming through my book
Same, i feel you â€ïž. I wish I could have photogenic memory đ. But I don't. So I am doomed. But I like to try what Faye told us to do. In 6th grade I made a chapter test of my own and answered and also corrected it. So by that time, I knew which answer I knew and didn't know. And then I kept writing the answering the question over and over again using a whiteboard and then when i finally felt confident- I answered it orally. And I guess it worked. I did remember stuff. I don't know whether it still works or not. (Because I haven't done it in a long time) but maybe faye's way of studying- highlighting and writing down mind map/flow charts works. So I think we should all try it.

my economics essay exam is in two days, gonna try this and see how it turns out!
What I like to do is use this method in my notes. So when I'm in a lesson, if I hear some important concept, definiton or process (equations, mitosis, things like that) and write a question an examiner would ask in the margin (eg: Define Osmosis). Then I write the answer on the right side of the mitosis so from the begining you're already thinking like an examiner and have review material to practice active recall with (via covering the answers).
