    Have you ever opened the center console for a levante?

    When i saw the shifter come off I was also thinking maybe it can be changed to the new one/. I must admit the 2016 ghibli i hired for a couple of days the shifter was fiddly and i didnt like it. I'm surprised ZF supplied Maserati with a crappy shifter. The new shifter is exactly like the one I have in my 5 series and makes the Ghibli more appealing. I feel that Maserati is playing catchup and the 2018/2019 ghibli spec should have been the car to initally release in the first place back in 2013/2014

      Im with you 100% on that last statement. That's why I tell people that you cant compare the early model Ghibli's to the 18/19 models because they are just too far apart.I dont think you can retrofit the sifter because the new gear select has two lanes such as your 5 series. Trust me, I want it to work for my 2016 haha. Either way, Maserati is heading in the right direction so I dig it.

    Interesting video - I find it fascinating to see bits taken off these modern cars and seeing what's underneath. Glad it's under warranty, $1100 seems steep for a relatively simple fault...

      Anytime I can do a video like this I'm going to because you never get to see the under-workings of these cars as you said and its really quite intriguing to see.

    Hey Ron, randomly watched this video and it sparked a question I’ve been wondering for awhile now and think you may have more connections to ask for an answer than I would.
    Can the pre-2019 shifter assembly be replaced with the 2019 and newer assembly? Not just the shift knob, but the entire assembly with the manual shift track and push button park setup? I’d assume it is a direct bolt in on the existing center tunnel frame as I’d doubt they re-engineered hard points when the new shifter was designed. I’d also assume it would need to be programmed and “married” to the car, but the biggest question would be if that is actually possible.
    Any chance you could look into this for me? I know quite a few people were also wondering this over on the Ghibli forum.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Ron. I have a 2015 Maserati Ghibli SQ4 and I am having the exact same problem with the center arm rest. I am definitely taking it in for a warranty fix. Also, have you ever had problems with a noisy and squeaky the automatic steering wheel adjustment when you start the car and turn the car off? I am having the problem from time to time. I am want to make sure I get all these things fixed before the warranty ends next year.

      I havent had that problem specifically but thats def something under warranty that you NEED to get checked out since your warranty is up soon.

    What about the gear shifter? can it be changed to the new one

      Kwan Yui Wu Great question

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety

      I havent heard that it could be but remember thats a two lane shifter compared to the old one lane and with them removing the M(manual button) from the new layout, it sounds like youd have to do too much to retrofit it.

    What is the on/off switch used for inside the center console? My wife just leased a 2019 Ghibli and I can't figure it out 😖😖

    • @severejones2879
      @severejones2879 Před 4 lety

      J High. That switch opens and closes the air vent in the armrest.

    Staggering and fascinating!! This is why I took out the additional two year warranty, before my car was three years old.
    Another subject, are you aware if any adjustment controls on the actual Bowers and Wilkins amplifier?

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  Před 6 lety

      You did it wright Keith! I am not, is your amp having issues?

    • @keithshayle123
      @keithshayle123 Před 6 lety

      Well I do wonder, given that as I understand, there is a volume control on the Harmon Kardon amp, I am setting the volume around the mid point in order to get decent output. And I would stress I'm not somebody who plays music loudly!! :)

      Haha Frank is the absolute best! We're not exactly sure what was the cause. Didn't look like anything broke. Maybe too much pressure on it?

    • @AlanAndalon
      @AlanAndalon Před 6 lety

      Rons Rides I think it’s a factory defect. The Ghibli MY2014 - MY2016 have the most factory defects since they are the first MY’s. Most of these defects have been worked out by MY2017+ and you can also tell with the improvements they made every year. I wish my 2015 Ghibli came with Lane Assist, a better touchscreen, and other stuff I see standard on Honda’s!
