  • Apex was originally installed in 1989 as a Thiokol double relocated as Inspiration. In 2008 it got removed along with its neighbor Powderhorn with a Doppelmayr CTEC detachable. The old lift, mixed with some parts from Powderhorn was relocated to Park City as the real-estate Flat Iron lift one year later in 2009. Apex serves exclusively intermediate terrain easily lappable thanks to its short length, with varying groomers and mogul runs. In 2015, when Summit Express was installed, a new trail named Summit Access West provided much easier access to that lift rather than the Sunrise setup. This lift is a bit crowded as it’s the main access point to & from the Summit Zone and accesses the rest of Solitude’s terrain, but it does its job pretty well and I think it’s gonna last a long time ahead.
