Seated Leg Exercises on Your Couch

  • Is it another Blah day? When you still don’t want to get up from your couch? But you know you need to be a fighter, you need to do your home exercises so you can achieve your goals. If so, let’s do exercises that you can do on your couch.
    For occupational therapy, we need to also strenghten the legs.
    So even though we don’t wanna get up from our couch we need to do our exercises, or therapy to achieve our goals. Whether that may be being independent with your self care or the ability to play with your kids or grandkids, lets make those your motivation to be consistent with your therapy at home.
    In this video, we are going to do leg exercises on your couch. We will use a throw pillow in some of the exercises and we will be sitting exceot for the last one when we get up and down.
    Exercises included are:
    1. Stationary marching
    2. Leg clams
    3. Knee adduction
    4. Leg circles
    5. Front kicks
    6. Knee flexions
    7. Toes ups
    8. Calf raises
    9. Sit to stand

    Thanks Nathan my left hand cannot close open since I had a stroke Dec 2004.my therapist didn't teach me what I am learning from you now my left foot is turning sidewise to the left so I am using an AFO. INSIDE my long legbrace.can you help me restore the function of my left hand coz it's been 19 years? Can my left foot be flat again as I walk? What do I need to do Nathan.pls advise.charo 64 year old

      Do passive range of motion. Also do fast tapping on the muscle belly of each muscle. Check out my video on how to wake up a stroke arm. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

      @@SKILLSANDWELLNESS morning stretched, kāgels and bed time stretches and seated/couch exercises. My foot is broken so i canʻt put weight on it.
