Based on the acclaimed 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire, the film stars Wyatt Russell (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, who moves into a new home with his concerned wife Eve (Oscar® nominee Kerry Condon, The Banshees of Inisherin), teenage daughter Izzy (Amélie Hoeferle, this fall’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) and young son Elliot (Gavin Warren, Fear the Walking Dead).
Secretly hoping, against the odds, to return to pro ball, Ray persuades Eve that the new home’s shimmering backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for him. But a dark secret in the home’s past will unleash a malevolent force that will drag the family under, into the depths of inescapable terror.
Night Swim is written and directed by Bryce McGuire (writer of the upcoming film Baghead) and is produced by James Wan, the filmmaker behind the Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring franchises, and Jason Blum, the producer of the Halloween films, The Black Phone and The Invisible Man. Looks like a decent horror film.
It looks like even if it is half decent, I will be entertained and that's all that really matters!
Now im never going in a pool ever again no matter what...
At least not in one, which has been an ancient wishing well, demanding living sacrifices.

James Wan= jump scares + family not knowing what is happening to them+ The will see a priest who will tell them about another legend+ final confrontation with the demon+ Demon somehow survives for a sequel
James Wan= Formulaic Mediocrity
This is 3rd or 4th movie to use that one Billie Eilish song for it's movie advertisement. Not sure if that's a good sign. For reference, I heard this song in the trailer for Soderbergh's "Kimi", and also the trailer for Madame Web.
Of course they would kill the fucking cat.

Well this was a dissapointing movie
Typical horror movie. Family buys a new house with closed or abandoned area. The house turns out to be haunted. Scary things happen and family must do X supernatural thing in order to stop the haunting. I truly don't understand why someone as talented as James Wan would create such a mediocre movie. I don't think run-of-the-mill horror is a good money-maker.
In fact the *house* isn't haunted at all.
Plus the ghosts here are actually the imprisoned victims of the real evil *presence* here ... the water itself ( which is a powerful ancient wishing well, but also demands living sacrifices in return )
