I agree with you that AI is here to stay. Amazon would be shooting it’s own foot to ban AI content. But I also think it benefits them to be transparent in the content their selling. The catch is how they’ll use this information in the future regarding their algorithm and sales percentage.
Thanks for chiming in definition agree that AI is here to stay. I use it a ton…and will continue to use it for other projects. Thanks for chiming in :-)
right
Let's see what transpires. In s way though it might be a good thing no more notebooks with horses with 3 ears and 5 legs. People have been using it badly and this has caused an end for those using it responsibly
LOL!!!! I am laughing soo hard bc I was just saying this in my head...bahahahahaa!!!! Great point!
Dwl 😂😂😂
Wow so that means the end of Surrealism, ugh?
@@Nihil168 I think this is a test to see how well we are using our own abilities to create books rather than a robot to do it for us but i tell you Ai is going nowhere because heads up I am a Jamaican and I try my best to keep up with Washington post. Ai is going to rip through mankind like a tornado. Why because Ai will be replacing most of our jobs including driver's who deliver goods all over not to mention admin. Let me give you a little insight Amazon will be replacing most of its workers with Ai. So as i said this new post on their site don't worry it is a test. Don't take my words for it just get ready and keep your eyes and ears open BIG changes are coming and we all know change is good and bad but continue doing your work don't let the new changes worry you because they are going to win big out of this Ai. Stocks etc.. watch and learn just wait until October you will remember what i just told you.
@@Nihil168 lol
I think it’s more a of a crackdown on low QUALITY AI content that would be rejected by the customer and having to do refunds and returns and the costs.
Agreed!
I think this is positive and welcome the guidelines. I don’t necessarily see this as preventing AI generated content, just to do it responsibly with edits and quality assurance checks. Also, a statement in your book stating that elements of content are AI generated is also good practice and what many AI generators state you should do. It’s just about being honest with the customer. If you’ve great prompts and you’ve thoroughly checked the quality even if you haven’t many edits, if it’s good quality and you’ve acknowledged AI, there shouldn’t be a problem.
Great points here!
Thanks for the video. I love how you keep in touch with Kdp updates. From what I am seeing ai has come to stay. From the interpretation of things, amazon Kdp has finally accepted ai knowing that that’s the world we live in.
I’m excited about your upcoming money diversification series. Thanks!
I think AI is like anything else that is new. You will always have a few percentage of people who are in it for the quick money. It's good that Amazon KDP is beginning to regulate the content. I use AI for my word search books, and to give me ideas in writing Introductions or copy for certain things, even outside of KDP. I never copy and paste. First of all, I have never gotten anything so great that I feel I have to totally depend on AI. I also believe it depends on how savvy a person is in putting in the right prompts to get higher-quality content back from their prompts. Therefore, I don't think everyone who uses AI is of the same bunch. I use AI as I used to use Google. If I wanted some information I used Google to get me started and not totally depend on the information I received. AI is like any other thing that is invented. It is supposed to be a part of progress, some will use it for good and some will use it for bad. That is the history of inventions. We love cars, at least I do, getting around is so much better. However, when a drunk gets behind the wheel, or a careless driver is behind the wheel, a car becomes a danger to society. I say just use AI responsibly for ideas and for the betterment of your audience. My two cents! : )
Thanks for chiming in!
i think is just nice to either indicate or edit accurately
Thank you for sharing what you've learned. I just printed the content guidelines out last night. ✌️🙏📚🤩✨️
Yw!
Thanks for sharing. I think it's a good thing. It will hopefully help with the quality of products that people sell. Would you please share what you use to share your screen? It's very crisp and very clear
Not sure about this :-(
How are they policing AI content? I don't read into this in that way. I see it as Amazon collecting information to get a picture of how prevalent the use of AI is. I think they should take Google's position, which is as long as the content is good and accurate then all is well. People are commenting about "original content". Very little is original. No one is getting dinged for using a spin writer or Grammarly. People aren't being punished for using ghost writers and artists for their covers. CZcams is filled with people who openly state they don't do anything, just hire out everything. AI is just another tool, another employee. The policing of accuracy and quality is something that should always have been in place. I don't really understand the "hate" on AI.
Actually I am going to have to agree to disagree with you here. If they were not looking into/policing AI content a bit more closely -- then why add this tab here. I don't see it as a bad thing but I do think that they are trying to take a closer look into AI generated content. I could be 100% wrong here...but I guess time will tell. Thanks for chiming in.
Please does this affect bookbolt,Canva, midjourney,or creative fabrica?
Hello there! Yes, it goes for any tool that you use that generates AI content (Midjourney, Leonardo) etc. Best of luck!
hey can i ask you one question , is creating the cover with AI Considered as Ai generated or is just the content that matter the most ? thank you for your video
Yeppers it is. From what I can tell Covers made with AI and also interior pages (coloring pages and etc) are as well.
Can i use public domain images for books like pixabay is there any problem?
I would highly recommend NOT using images from Pixabay and etc for KDP. Its better to just use a source like Creative Fabrica and combine images with other elements to make unique designs. Best of luck!
I

Hello. There are AI tools like Midjourney that state in their TOS with active paid subscriptions the images you create you own the copyright and are allowed to sell commercially. Do you have any suggestions on how to get proof of this just in case KDP asks for proof of copyright?
Hey there! This is still considered AI generated even with a commercial license.
@@YourChicGeek do you have any suggestions on how to get proof of copyright even if it is AI generated?
great timing to bring us this video …..I recently googled who owns the copyright to AI
images and got wildly contradictory replies. It’s still the great unknown. Government and educational sectors are currently discussing regulating this. I’ve seen advice from other creators to image search your own AI images to ensure they haven’t already been generated for other people as that would mean the images are not unique to you and you therefore cannot claim the licence to use them. If course your images could be regenerated for others later on that you won’t know about either. I think they’re collecting the data for a massive clear out one day when it gets regulated. Their autobots for checking such things are getting smarter too so I wouldn’t dare lie about my content either, I’ve worked too hard on my bookshelf than to take silly chances and lie, then lose everything.
So if l buy an image or find a free image or have an illustrator create it and use AI to make it better then l don’t have to say it was AI generated? Is this AI assisted, do you think?
Hey there Joan! This is a great question. I think this would still fall in AI generated tbh but it’s probably best to check with KDP on this to be sure.
What about the cover ? meaning if i used Ai just for my cover (not in the interior), should I answer Yes?
Yep answer is yes! Anything that you upload that was produced from AI (cover, interior pages, clipart) counts.
thank you@@YourChicGeek
I wonder about my AI coloring books that are already published?
I would just check and make sure that your pages are good to go - meaning that there arent any images and etc that are not cleaned up, animals/people with duplicate fingers/toes/legs. If there is anything that you think is not good quality it may be a good idea to publish them. Best of luck.
So is book bolt and canva AI??? When making these no/low content books and
Hey there! Nope these are not considered AI but they do have AI functionality in them.
@@YourChicGeek ok thank you luv!!!
@@YourChicGeek Ok, another question: So if I use it, should I check that my book created in Book Bolt is AI-assisted because it has some AI functionalities? I ask because I'm new to this and don't want to lose my account as soon as I start.
Hey kim, I just posted a video on this too - 😅.... I think it's something we all feel the need to comment on and a big change. Something that did worry me, is that many many platforms now - including creative fabrica, Etsy, Canva etc... have Ai generated images on their platforms. While Creative fabrica asks you to disclose thisi, I have noticed that many people still do not disclose it. I've also seen a lot of clipart on Etsy that isn't actually being disclosed as Ai generated. This will undoubtedly lead to many kdp books uploaded without that disclosure. x
Heyyyy there ladybug! Wowza this is an excellent point! Maybe this is what KDP is headed towards in the future adding a disclosure statement so that folks know that they are buying AI generated content. As someone stated there are way too many people bombarding the platform with crappy AI books (10 feet and 4 hands) etc sooo I think this may be a result of that. You are also spot on about folks not clarified whether or not Images/Graphics on CF and other platforms are AI generated as well. I think this is definitely a step in the right direction and just wonder what this will all lead to. Thanks for chiming in. Im off to watch your video :-)
@@YourChicGeek Hey thanks Kim.... Yep it's such a crazy time with Ai developments that it's really impossible to say where this will all be in six months - let alone one or two years down the line. Since everything is just evolving so fast. Kind of exciting and terrifying at the same time!? lol ... But yeh, exactly, Amazon has been flooded by crappy content no doubt and needs to make some adjustments, just like many platforms! X
Maybe amazon is training their own ai too who knows, hopefully a disclaimer won't shadowban ai books like with erotica or give us a smaller royalty like with public domain (which is also copyright free) . I heard this all started with people being poisoned when using medicinal herbs generated by ai text aka chat gpt which does make mistakes from time to time..@@RagsToNiches
is bookbolt ai?
Will Amazon be telling customers "this ebook is created with AI" In the description?
This is a great question and one that I am not sure about. I guess only time will tell.
does a tittle or subtittles generated with the help of ai tools consider as a content on only it is consider covers and interiors
Hey there! I am thinking that AI assisted content is content that goes inside of your books (copy, coloring pages etc) -- but I will check with KDP support to clarify this.
I abstained from using Ai. Too much was unknown about how Amazon would react, negative customer feedback, copyrights, etc. Images were often defective in some way too, but that has improved, and will continue to. Now I’ve decided to take the plunge being careful to do quality edits and page content changes as needed. Hopefully there won’t be any negative repercussions from Amazon! I don’t know what the future of Ai is for sure, but it seems like Amazon is at least considering embracing it. Maybe they will require a disclaimer and leave it at that as long as all other KDP guidelines are followed.
Success is on the other side of fear. 90% of people will react in anger or fear with this news
Definitely agree with your approach Melinda! This is the same thing that I am doing (and have done for books that I have created with AI). I think that folks just need to make sure that their books are done well and take the time to make corrections and etc to images where they need to.
@@YourChicGeek I’m working on a Halloween Coloring Book right now. Wish me luck🍀
@@melindabooth9806 good luck! You got this
@@YourChicGeek Thank you!
Well people should be aware of AI content it would be wrong for a person to say it isn't AI when it is, and would give the customers more ideas of what they are buying, and also gives the customer knowledge that your being honest with them.
Is using chat gpt for book description also AI assisted? Just want to be very sure. Thanks
I was wondering about this too.
@@chronicmomlife292 Hey there yall! So this is a great question and one that I am not 100% sure of. I will have to check into this a little more and maybe ask KDP support. I am thinking this would not fall into AI assisted category though because descriptions are not necessarily inside of the books content -- but I don't know for sure. Great question though.
Yes it is.
@@YourChicGeek thanks! Will look forward to your answer.
They’re not banning, but I think we’ll see a lot of companies (and Governments) bringing in regulations soon as AI evolves into everyday life and industry. At the moment it seems to be Data Gathering. Anyone following the news will be aware that there’s a number of law suits pending in the courts; plus I’ve seen controversies where some of the big 4 major traditional book publishers have been caught out having some book covers for some major authors designed using AI generated images, and their artists claiming the stock images they used were available from stock image sites and not declared as AI generated… I’ve also seen the big tech companies not wanting to see AI innovation stifled because there’s a lot of money to be made. So I think it’s just data gathering for now until regulation kicks in.
Great points Rebecca! Thanks for chiming in.
You know what i think is coming. I think a tag is going to be attached to your books if its Ai or none Ai. Think about it. Oh please carry that video come. Will be waiting on it because as they say never put your eggs in one basket.
I'm glad to see others are having the same questions! There is so much that goes into producing a book and so many different elements. I feel kinda bad saying this but I do think this is good. I write long books and medium activity books that are science-based/wildlife conservation. And I have seen horribly misconstrued AI-generated info in my niche. So yes, I do want to see good content but now I have just so many questions about buying images and other content from Creative Fabrica or others. Thanks for tackling this - great video!!
I never believe in buying images online.
Why have AI-generated movies and games not been in violation of copyrights? Why only AI-generated books?
Thanks for the info... What about images obtained from CF? Is there any way of knowing for sure if these images were AI-generated? I was trying to find AI-detecting tools online but I'm not sure how accurate they are
Hey there! This is a great question. Sometimes I can tell when images are AI generated and sometimes its hard to tell. A lot of the images that are AI generated have a small note saying that they are on them. But I would say for now and going forward its best to use any image with a combination of images to make sure that you create something super unique. All the best to you.
Thanks a lot@@YourChicGeek
great question @vannick22. I was wondering the same thing.
@@DigiTonic101 yw!
I think what Amazon is doing is such a great idea. First, this AI thing is getting out of hand and there needs to be strict regulations.
Secondly, I think it's pretty unfair competition for content creators.
Thirdly, I think ai create books should receive less royalties than original work.
Overall, I was using ai to create my books and knew this day was coming.
Appreciate your feedback. Ive definitely seen some folks do AI well and others well….terrible stuff.
As far as diversifying is concerned. I myself just want to earn enough to get my own printers. And take my busioness back from those I need to use to get it running. I dont like my business, my mailing list, my customers on someone elses servers/business. At the end of the day.; I work for amazon. They keep more profit from my books, not just a percentage. Its not even a 50/50 split. But maybe Im being too unreasonable.
Hello ma, am Prince how can I chat you privately plss I need a guide on on particular issue
if companies get rid of AI, they might as well ban Grammerly and other helpful tools. its 2023 and writing, spelling especially cursive isnt even taught in school anymore. they cant expect creators to not use technology when amazon itself was used with technology and a book.
Good, earn it
Im not going to tell them if I do. Theyre looking for a yes answer so they can block it. Theyre not interested in collecting information. They want to stop AI generated content. Probably because some unscrupulous people will generate it and not even do any editing just to churn out hundreds of books. Im not unscrupulous. If noone is going to accept AI generated content then what the heck use is AI. Fact is, its a great tool to create contrent. It obviously needs editing after which is why I would never tell them. The edits are so great that I consider anything I do with AI completely original. Thats because the AI content isnt as great as they would have you believe. It always needs work. And I am then guiding the hand of the AI.
So whats next, havng to declare whether its a ghostwriter? Noi, because that would punish the big companies. Because none of those authoprs write their own stuff. Hardly. Yet theyre on the best seller lists. Hence, I wouldnt tell them if AI ghost wrote my stuff. Just another way of limiting people, and yes, stopping trash ebing uploaded. My stuff isnt trash.
having said all of that. I may try a new title and choose "Some sections with extensive editing" to see hwat amazon do about it.
But also, am I allowed to use a word processor? and a spell checker? How far are they going to go to, in my view, to block and usurp peoples efforts.
Hey there! Well I totally understand your frustration with what Amazon is doing I dont see this necessarily as a bad thing. I definitely dont agree with being dishonest on whether or not if your work was created by AI (even if its cleaned up) bc of two reasons: Im hearing some rumblings that there may be companies implementing code into AI generated content (stuff you cant see) but it can be detected. So if Amazon starts implementing systems that can potentially scan for this and you dont tell the truth about it you could be jeopardizing your account. So I would recommend just trying to work within their guidelines to keep your account as safe as possible. Best of luck to ya.
