- The kind folks at Vangoa Sent me two instruments. For the first 10 minutes of this video I thought they were regular 5 string banjos. So there is some humorous moments as well as the unboxing of the first of the two.
This one is a full size 39 inch Banjo Guitar. Some folks call them Banjitar
Here is the link. (I am not an affiliate and make no money if you buy this but since they sent it to me I will put a link if you are interested )

Good afternoon Maria ❤. Thanks so much for sharing your new instrument with us all. Very cool 😎! I wish you a terrific Holiday weekend 🍾💥❤❤. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
Thanks so much and happy new year!
@@MariaCalfaDePaul Absolutely my pleasure Maria 😊❤
The neat thing is that it can cover any Guitar sheet music. The body is a bit deeper than a regular 5 string Banjo to help the low notes speak more clearly.
Ah that’s interesting about the body depth!!
Fantastic Christmas gift… I want to learn the guitar next , I tough myself the ukulele over Covid. Happy new year .
Nice. Covid was good for some things like that right ? And I bet you can take up guitar next. My Uke lessons on zoom and learning from CZcams helped me in my guitar journey and I started with guitar. Thanks for watching and happy new year !
Bantar? Guitarjo? Nice instrument and playing. I always love your videos, especially when Gracie is in them :). Happy new year!
Thanks so much !! And yes I don’t know what they actually call it ha ha and glad you enjoyed it. Happy new year too!!
@@MariaCalfaDePaul the box said “6 string banjolele”
@@ilovecatsandsynths9702 I know but I don’t think that’s right. Cause that lele part comes from ukulele lol. But funny that I didn’t pick it up at first ha ha
@@MariaCalfaDePaul I see one model called a “Banjitar” on their website. Oddly I didn’t see this particular model listed. Maybe they used the wrong box, but then it probably wouldn’t have fit. lol. Maybe the box is mislabeled.
Awesome! Zz and Fleetwood Mac
Thanks so much !! Glad you liked my video :)
I love the background with the fire video. Very cozy place to unbox a banjo. I really like that finish with the dark spots. It's funny that you thought it was a 5-string until setting the bridge.😂I've never played a 6-string banjo but it should be pretty natural due to the tuning. Fleetwood Mac on a banjo sounds great BTW. I actually did a jug band cover of that song back in Dec of 2020. LOL. Great minds.
Ha I would love to watch that one. Is it on your channel. And yes we seem to have that connection!! Thanks so much for watching. I know I was telling my husband and he’s like “can’t you do it over” and I said “nope. It’s an unboxing. Lol “. Well there was humor in this video too ha ha. Love my fake fireplace. One day I hope I have a real one again !! Thanks for watching and happy new year !!
@@MariaCalfaDePaul Yes it is. Search for "dreams on jug band instruments" or probably just "dreams". Happy New Year to you and yours. 🥳
@@musicalmiscellany okay cool I will!! Thanks
Well, it may have 6 strings but it’s still a banjo!
Ha ha exactly ! Thanks for writing !
Fernando Sor's Guitar music works great on 6 String Banjo as it uses the same tuning as a Guitar, it takes standard acoustic or electric steel guitar strings.
Thanks I will have to look for it. Thank you !
@@MariaCalfaDePaul All the music you know on Classical Guitar works great on 6 string Banjo.
I hope you got the other Vangoa Unboxed in a new video because Vangoas are my favorite.
Funny you mention it. I should be releasing it tomorrow or Monday !!
@@MariaCalfaDePaul Great idea, I love how Vangoa uses the Bass Clef.
@@RockStarOscarStern634 yes me too!!
@@MariaCalfaDePaul That other Vangoa was the 6 string Mini Banjo & it's actually a Banjitalele (Banjo/Guitalele Hybrid) or Banjo-Requinto because it's tuned like a Requinto or a Guitar w/ a Capo on the 5th Fret at High A Standard Tuning (A, D, G, C, E, A).
@@RockStarOscarStern634 yes it took me some time to realize that the tuning was wrong that they said on the strings
Johnny St Cyr played one of these
Wow I will have to look him up. Thank you
@@MariaCalfaDePaul Johnny St Cyr played 6 string Banjo w/ Louis Armstrong & if you listen to some of his recordings like this one:. The 6 String Banjo goes back to the 1920s & 30s before we had amplification where Guitarists had to compete w/ those Blazing loud Horns. The 6 string Banjo is louder than an average Acoustic Guitar because the Drum Head is acting like a Really loud Amplifier.
The bridge is Maple and Ebony
Nice!!
