I always wanted to crochet. I joined the ladies crochet group at my church. They taught me how to crochet and I am now about 9 years into crocheting. I make so many things for family and friends. I now know so many ladies at church because I was interested in learning something new. That’s a great way to learn new people at church.

9:18 I think the very best way to get to know other ladies on a more closer level is to be in each other's homes. People are just more comfortable in their own space and therefore are able to open up more. And then as the visitor you can look around at their home and see what they're interested in or chat about where photos were taken etc. Sharing a meal together is so precious!

Here are a couple of ideas:
Your dress- Make a keyhole closing on the sleeve. You could use binding on the slit and as the sleeve hem. Finish with a button and button hole (made with the binding). Looks like that would get you the fit you want.
Your daughter's dress- leave as is. Make thread belt loops at waist. Add a fabric or ribbon belt. Remove as she grows.

Having depression and crying every time you take a test and it turns up negative is so real! I feel for you! No matter the length of waiting, it is still hard! We are still waiting for our miracle but we are so happy you both have gotten your miracle! I also don't know how people can't believe how people don't believe in God when they see these little miracles. I also don't know how people can go through the feelings of the struggle of trying to get pregnant without God standing next to you. I don't think I would have been ok if I didn't have God.

Re: going from pants to exclusively wearing dresses/skirts
Last summer when I got a new job, I decided to only wear skirts/dresses. I liked it so much that I never wear pants outside the house anymore.
A coworker, who does not wear pants, asked me why. Hers is a religious reason, mine is a comfort reason. I prefer how I look in a skirt vs pants. I'm not comfortable in my appearance in pants.
The other thing that has happened is that people have assumed I'm "dressed up" just b/c I have a skirt on. I just respond with "I prefer skirts".
And if I know I'm going to be on the floor playing w/ my grandkids, I have shorts on underneath.

Bless your heart. I cried while watching this. My husband and I were married almost 7 years and many fertility treatments to have our only son who is now 18. Every time someone struggles, it still brings all of those emotions. ❤

I really enjoy your videos, you are so accepting and non judgemental, and I can tell it's truly from your heart and not scripted. The scripture vs culture is an excellent thing to remember. My dad's Christian religion is called "the truth" and they are very similar to Mennonites. They have "meeting" on Wednesday and Sunday, and gospel meeting Sunday afternoon. The pastors are called "workers" and they have no possessions or spouse and stay with the members who are called "friends". They stay 2 or 3 days then move on to the next home, they rotate their regions every year. My Uncle is a retired worker.
It really means a lot to me when you mentioned people having deep wounds from Christianity, my mother converted to the truth in the 70's but had some bad things happen. She was a lot like you, questioning things, discussing things she didn't understand. Things were very restrictive, no wedding rings, no open toed shoes, no Christmas tree, no television I could go on and on. But back in the 1970's, they weren't so interested in her questioning anything...and told her her and her kids we're going to Hell. She was eventually driven away, and my dad just started back going to meeting in 2012. I think Christians have gotten more understanding and following scripture vs culture in recent years. My mom passed in 2019 from Breast Cancer. I know God knew she loved him and Jesus, she was a wonderful person, mother, friend, etc. I just wish things would have been different for her. So glad to see people like you, so understanding and just a good person. Thank you Megan! And congrats on the baby, so exciting!
I should mention now The Truth is much more understanding, the "friends" are truly some of the nicest people I know. The old school culture has gone away for the most part, scripture is more important than following out dated cultural "rules" made by people.

easy way to go deep with church people is "what can i pray for you this week?" and my go to question for personalized convos are "how's your heart?"
"old mom" haha thats ME ..turned 39 in march with 8month twins behind 4 singletons. I wanted to be a young mom but God has different plans, first babe at 28 and #5&6 at 38 🤷🏼‍♀️
crying with you on stick reveal....its so emotional every.single.time!! especially hearing the first heartbeat 💓

Great video Megan! As a convert to the Anabaptist faith, cultural differences for me were easy! I love this culture, I have been blessed by so many people in the faith! Growing up in Philly as a Catholic, my life was very different. I thank God that I came to Lancaster in 1998 to visit and see the beautiful countryside! I met the owner of Lapp Dairy and he helped me to understand the culture and the tenants of our faith. In 2001, I was re-baptized and became a member of our mission church in Philadelphia. By 2002, we moved here and I can honestly say that my church family is incredibly loving, kind, sincere, loyal and generous. I genuinely believe that God will lead you where He wants to plant you. If that means converting to the Mennonite faith, He will be with you every step of the way. I’m so very thankful that is my testimony! Love & miss you lots sweetie 🥰❤️❌⭕️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

My church has an old house they restored on the church property that they turned into a thrift shop if you will. The items that get donated are sold there and the money is donated to our local schools. That’s a great way if you want to give clothing items and you are not worried about making money on some stuff.

I love what you said about wedding rings being culture. It would be traditional in mainstream Christian culture to wear a ring and people will question you or talk about you if they know you were married and weren't wearing it. So frustrating. My ring irritates my skin and I rarely wear it. It doesn't mean my husband and I are on the outs, thank you very much!!

Then praise the Lord we conceived our last we when we’re discussing having more lol they are 21 months apart. I was still nursing when I found out. They are now 11 yrs, 4 yrs, and 2 yrs old, God is good

Loved this video and how honest you were with your emotions. Your daughter is so cute with her reaction to the new baby. My kids are just 2yrs apart so my daughter didn't have those questions for me, HOWEVER, when she was 4 we went to some friends house and she was very pregnant. My daughter wanted to know how that baby got in there and she wasn't buying any of our answers. She was relentless! I did find a book that gave me some wording and such for her age and it was very helpful.
