I see what you mean about the deck feeling young. For me, I love that I get more asian representation in this deck than most and I think this deck could work for me and people looking to work with and heal their inner young adult. I have a deck for my inner child work and one for my inner teen but not one for those college and twenty something years. I do love that this could be a good vibe for younger folks. Thanks for the walk through!
Well this was quite the rollercoaster of emotions wasn’t it?
This would be the perfect deck for young people at the beginning of their tarot journey. There are some card depictions that are really original. It‘s true that the number of cards depicting alcohol is striking, but these also feel a little ironic, especially the 4 Of Cups. I also like that the diversity feels very natural and not forced like in some other modern tarots. I feel like this deck may be hugely successful, especially if it is published mass market.
I don't think this is a deck for me. Very young, too many wedding rings/wedding references, and too much alcohol references for me to feel comfortable using it for client readings. Especially the alcohol references. I'm fine with alcohol, but I know a lot of people in recovery where I'd feel super uncomfortable using this deck with them. I'd never want to contribute to someone stumbling on their sobriety journey. I prefer the Cosmic Cycles Tarot, which I'll be getting the special edition when it's released this year. I definitely do NOT like that 7/Wands.
Thank you for recommending this one 🙏🏽 I love my copy!
Thanks for the walk-through, Lisa! I feel like this one is trying SO hard to be the next This Might Hurt/Unfolding Path but doesn't quite get there. I really *want* to like it, but I don’t feel a connection. The one very positive thing I noticed, though, is that I like the clever and evocative ways that many of the courts are depicted. It makes their often confusing meanings clearer to me.
Oh. Oh no. I love this I fear. My poor, poor wallet is about to lose some weight.
This deck made me think of the Cosmic Cycles Tarot because of the cartoon feel I get. I did a flip through of that deck alongside your video of the Wake Me Up Tarot just to see how I thought they compared. About 25% of the Cosmic Cycles cards, I would switch out for the Wake Me Up cards. I really love the Hermit in the Wake Me Up deck. Thanks for this walkthrough. If this deck goes mass market in the future, I may pick it up.
I had all the same feels after seeing a walkthrough of this one and decided not to pick this one up. Now that it’s OOP I’m feeling like I missed out 😅. I don’t know why I’m like this cuz I didn’t even want it 😂😂😂😂😂. I certainly appreciate this reminder Lisa. Thank you! 💜
😂😂😂😂 sounds like you’ve got the disease that is doing the rounds. The FOMO disease 😂
I think it's supposed to be like you said, "too much superficial" the title of the deck it's perfect for it. Great deck to make the reader see the world around. The five of wands is perfect. When I was little I was attached by a dog and it was someone loved pet. Truly eye opener images.
I really really like this one! I'm not personally bothered that they are all young. I might have to add this one to my list. I love the art style.
"On the nose" is exactly the style I love in tarot decks lol. I like more objective or "obvious" imagery personally lol.
I think this deck is not that traditional, more modern, new interpretation, softened art style. What I like the most is It has own way, good for young readers 👍 this is really "modern" deck.
It is a very young deck indeed! I personally think I’ll use it for life coaching purposes
I think the style matches the vibe and image depictions well. I love the creativity and think that this is a great deck for someone who is relating to the relationship and partying themes. It’s not for me and Ethony’s Modern Love deck is the deck I pick up for relationship readings and it has several aspects of diversity. Her guidebook is amazing it has, for each entry, several relationship statuses and the interpretations based on that plus a companion course so, that it is scratched. 😅
Thank u
Great hermit card!
😅thanks for the feedback and just talked me out of this deck! I prefer the True heart over this one! Even I don't reach out for the light seer these days.
Yeah this is a cute deck however I am not really pulled to this one. Great walk through!
Damnit, Lisa! Making me buy this deck! 😂❤🎉
I have this deck and I love it! It was one of my first indie decks and I love the vibes of the readings it gives. I didn't realize it was going to be limited in print at the time, but I'm very glad I have it! Thanks Lisa for another great review:)👍
Thank you for the review, Lisa. I really like this deck and will buy it. For some reason it resonates with me and a departure from the run of the mill decks.
I love a few cards. I wonder if the artist sells individual cards. Cause I’d love to have a few to add to my magpie deck but I don’t need the whole deck.
never thought of that idea but I actually really like this. How we're you able to get single cards from decks you liked?
You forgot Strength as a Grandma. She is awesome. The bulk of the deck feels like twenties and thirties plus children of various ages. Not too many elders. I like it, though, probably for the grandma.
🤣 The fool card reminded me of me getting back with me ex and my family and friends finding out after I've already fallen again but they're still doing everything they can to save me. 🤦♀️ The deck isn't for me but I really appreciate your review of it.
I really enjoyed this video because this deck art made me think of aspects of the tarot that I had forgotten and I jotted a few meanings in my tarot journal. It is way too young for me and I'd have loved it when I started out reading the cards.
I think there are a few cards I really like, but my pile of cards I dislike more would be much larger. Some of the characters seems overly sexualized, and the queen of swords in a business suit open showing her sexy bra - something about that is rubbing me the wrong way.
Some really good concepts, yes. But, yeah, too "young" etc. I got Trippin' Waite, thought I would like it; however, didn't care for the substance abuse in it and gifted it away.
That's also a lot of skinny midriffs. Some clever ideas, but not my vibe.
I wonder if the alcohol is more noticeable because the vibe of the deck is so young? To me (42) this looks more like a teenager deck to be honest. And then the amounts of alcohol is very inappropriate🤷♀️. But hey I’m getting od.
That's my guess too. I'm 50 and it's far too young for me (and I'm ok with that) plus I'm not into cartoon-type decks anyway so hard pass. To each their own.
Aww, it's all sold out 😥
I love the deck, it is one of those that I have only seen lately, and not much was to be found about it.
I put it in my #10decksrarelytalkedabout video
It it sold out :(
It’s sold out 😢
Not for me. 😃
I'm in my 40's and love how the deck is. Yes, it may feel young, but we are looking at it through older eyes. Everything will look young to us. I will be getting this deck, cause I like how I can look at them as characters and see them with their energy, living in that moment of their life. Maybe even reminding me of a time of my youth.
