Was Great Having A Ride Along With Ya, Josh ! Wishing You Well With Your Air B & B ! Tuned In From The Frosty Maritimes On The East Coast Of Canada. Please Bring Us More Like This Soon, Friend ! ATB T God Bless
Thank you very much for watching! I'll be sure to have another episode out shortly 😊
Jacob’s coat in full glory along this scenic route! Easy to take for granted I suppose when one traverses it frequently…
Love this. Looks like home. Im from the hills of western massachusetts. Im so glad i grew up enjoying them. Now im in ny and cant wait to get back to the hills.
I lived at one time in the area, al.ost at the corner of 42 and 250, I. CHURCHVILLE, VA. THANKS FOR THE RIDE HOME.
Hey you're welcome!
Beautiful Countryside ~
Absolutely beautiful and makes me homesick, but until then I have your awesome videos and storytelling that I love and appreciate so much ❤ Thank you and God bless ❤
😊
Man I have spent many days hiking and fishing there. Good thing they cut the Mountain Valley Pipeline directly though it and are boring under sinking creek! I’m so glad they are doing what they can to protect this beautiful area!
I love this soundtrack
Sure does look like some nice roads to cruise on. At first there were nice fall leaves on the trees but then the west end looks like most of the leaves were gone.
We're just past peak colors, unfortunately...there's always next year I suppose!
I’ve lived in the SC Lowcountry so long that I sometimes forget how beautiful SWVA is. Good video!
Hey thanks a lot!
Great video. As a new resident of West Virginia within the last year and still exploring Appalachia which could take a lifetime. Watching this it’s funny because it looks just like my new home in WV. Great videos 👍🏼
Welcome to WV brother, thank you for your service. Mind if I ask whereabouts y’all moved to?
I’m down the road from Philippi in the one stop light town of Belington. It reminds me of a small town that my dad has his grocery store in Lasalle Colorado. Just a one stop light town, most everyone knows everyone’s else’s business etc hehe 😁
Great video. I can’t wait to retire in Appalachia
Such a beautiful place! Keep showing the beauty Appalachia has to offer!😊
Will do! 😊
What a beautiful drive for this season. Fall is my favorite time of the year. The leaf colors are so vibrant. I can see why people would drive this road to make memories. I enjoyed hearing the history as well. Amazing the secrets our little towns have. Thanks for sharing the secrets and hidden jewels of this town and many others that you have traveled to. Keep them coming!
Thanks so much for watching, really appreciate your feedback!!
Beautiful land❤
Loving it.
Wow, this is beautiful. Glad to see you are back. Looking forward to more videos. 😊
Me too! 😊
Great video as always Josh.
I really like going where you do your videos and see the things I remember from them. Please don’t stop what you’re doing and by the way, great music to accompany your work.
Thank you very much, appreciate you watching!
Thanks SO MUCH for the glorious road trip Josh!! Breathtakingly beautiful. I really enjoyed it.
Take care!! 🍁🍂🌾♥️🌾🍂🍁
You're very welcome! Thanks for joining me!!
Pretty country
You should do a video of Ferrum Virginia. It has quite the history
Amazing country 😎
It sure is!
Wishing you the best of luck in these current endeavors. Positive energy vibes to you, your family and your crew.
-Random dude in the northern Chicago suburbs learning about Appalachia
Many thanks random dude! 😉
Hi Josh Great video and storytelling as always. Thoroughly enjoyed the episode looking forward to more.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Since we here in East central Wisconsin went almost immediately from late summer to nearly winter this year (accumulating snow fell earlier this week, The autumn scenery was much more than welcomed! I noticed in this video just how strong and seamless your narration during the footage has become. This one flowed so smoothly that I could process the facts you presented as well as the scenery with no hesitation or interruptions in my "train of viewing". Loved the "As we talk..." teaser near the beginning!
It's incredible here as well how full and colorful the mountains were, but seemingly overnight with strong winds and considerably lower temperatures things have started to take on their winter appearance. I often forget just how heavy winters must be up north where you are, so things here must appear pretty mild to you.
Thanks as always for watching and providing your insightful feedback- especially as someone who has followed the evolution of the work I'm doing. Cheers Greg!
It is so good to have you back at mountain roots. If I had the finances I would keep you filming all year. Just love the work you do. Makes me want to pack up and drive the mountains.
Thank you.

@@georgenetroe2670 I sincerely appreciate that! I'm really trying hard to figure out how to keep more episodes coming both here and for PBS at the same time. Don't give up on me yet! 😉
You ever come to PA/NY? The mountains extend all the way past that.
That music was perfect on the tail end of the video! What was it? Where you were driving thru the valley.
Please visit North Georgia, the Cohutta Wilderness specifically
Planning to! I'll look into that area.
Looks like New York State
Wow, really?!
Have you ever been to New York State? The Allegany Plateau in the western part of the State is similar to your video. The Catskill mountains in the southeastern part of the state are beautiful and the Adirondack mountains in the Northern part of the state are 6 million acres of some very remote country.@@MountainRoots
@@silverback802 I have been to the Adirondacks!
Where exactly is this place? I know of several Sinking Creeks.
Sinking Creek Valley Virginia is located in Craig County.
Is this in Craig County on rt 42 ?
How do I access this road from Eastern Kentucky, please?? I'm anxious to drive it!!
Depending where you're coming from, you'd likely get on 460 east almost all the way to Blacksburg VA, but you'll turn NE onto the road itself, Rt 42/Cumberland Gap Rd at Newport VA.
Or a slightly different route might be taking 460 to I-81N, all the way to Christiansburg/Blacksburg area where you'll get back onto 460 and again turning on to Route 42 at Newport VA. Those are likely the easiest routes to find it.
@@MountainRoots thank YOU, your video gave us a hankering to see it, and God willing we sure aim to
@lydiasimpson8605 well I hope you do!!! 😊
Over half way thru the video, and nothing said. Gotta draw the line somewhere. Later
Thats odd. Volume up??
