This video means so much to me… Marylegs story reminds me so much of my old lease horses story. She got starved by her old lease kid and was so untrusting when I started leasing her and then she got ulcers right when she was starting to get better. Then I worked hours to get her better and now she is the best lesson horse at my barn and is super happy to be ridden ❤

He was scared, covered in wounds from stress licking, on top of it all he was sick, thanks to a vet appointment we later found out why he was sick he had a food allergy and we kept changing his food until we found one that stuck, and a fear of men. He would bolt out of the room anytime my dad or brother entered the room. My parents wanted to get rid of him, my dad would say that he would leave him on the side of the road or leave him at a shelter. I was only 9 years old, but I knew that I couldn't let him go. So I did what kid would do, I fought, I screamed, I cried, telling them that weren't gonna abandoned my cat. I kept fighting until they stopped saying all those hurtful things about Snare. I never blamed him for his wounds, I didn't blame him for being scared, I cleaned up after him every time he threw up, and I did my best to show him that my dad and brother weren't gonna hurt him. How can you blame an animal who just left an owner who didn't care about him? I made him a promise that day. That as long as I was here he would never be harmed ever again, he would never know what it's like to be alone, he would always have a full belly of food and water, but most of all he'll know what it's like to be loved, to feel wanted by someone, and to have someone in his corner that would fight her own parents for him. In time his wounds healed, he was no longer scared, he was no longer sick, and his fear of men went away. I may have been his third owner but I made up for everything that he was not given. He lived for 12 years after he was brought home by my older sister. He choose me to be his person. But I never once ever regretted fighting with my parents all those years ago. My mom even told me that she didn't think he would live as long as he had if I had stepped in. He was 14 years old when he passed away, and yes I was with him when he went, after all I promised him that he would never what it's like to be alone.
